    Pre-op Weight loss (Liquid Diet)

I lost 14 pounds in 16 days. Mine was a two week liver shrinking diet and two days of liquid. Mine didn’t have specific calories but I’d bet it was around 1000 or less.

    A pound of cure.

I found it very interesting that even some things that dietitians recommend like crystal light he says to stay away from. That would be my hardest thing to kick I think. Since surgery I do drink water most of the time but I splurge like once a day with crystal light.

Why am I able to eat so much

I never felt any sort of restriction until I was on soft foods and even then it is subtle (although I’m sure if I pushed past it the result wouldn’t be so subtle). I also felt like I could eat so much more than everyone else could but once I got to soft foods I realized I was within the same Range as most others. I think we are all a little different.

    dodgy dietitian advice

Thankfully you listened to your body and didn’t hurt yourself.
  8. I am taking two calcium citrate chews a day as suggested by my dr but using the Baritastic app I realized that the protein shake has a lot of calcium and I am getting 6-800 of the 1200/ day without supplements. Should I be taking less or does that calcium not all absorb because of surgery??
  9. Thanks for your help. I am 42. I did have one bone density test at a career fair years ago but didn’t pay too much attention other than it was in the normal range. I haven’t had any blood tests yet. I have my Second post op appt in 10 days. I am not sure when they start doing labs. I just remembered my mom getting kidney stones when I was young and it was from an excess of some vitamin so I didn’t want to be getting too much of anything.

    Souper cubes

Wish I would’ve seen your tip before I bought the souper cubes but I agree they are perfect for us.
  11. I agree it can be very bad for some people. My psychologist even went as far as to tell me not to have a Facebook account because of the effects it has on mental health. And he had to check this site out before he would “allow” me to join these chats. I have found most everyone to be extremely supportive though. One time I do admit I must have misinterpreted something as someone being less than supportive because I have read their posts since then and can tell they would never say something negative. I think that does happen sometimes when we are typing.....things come across different than we intended. If possible, I like to think that is the case when I read something less than constructive and try to move on. I haven’t come across anyone blatantly bad. I am fairy new though. I’m sure they are out there.

    Clothing Problems! What to do?

I have the same problem. Waiting to get my second COVID shot so I can feel comfortable while out at the thrift stores. I have shopped the thrift stores in the past and I have found that they do have a lot of extended sizes because people are always quick to get rid of their “fat clothes” and slower to get rid of their favorite “skinny clothes.” I plan to enlist my aunt and do a couple day long shopping spree searching for the next few sizes. I figure it’s payback from when I helped her shopping when she started new professional job and needed suits and dresses. 👍

    I'm Losing My Mind

On the purée stage the baked ricotta dish many on here talk about really saved me. https://bariatricbits.com/single-serve-baked-ricotta/ some people add egg to it for extra protein. It tastes very similar to lasagna but without the noodles.
  14. Good luck today. You’ve got this!!

    Good luck 👍
  17. If you are dehydrated that causes weakness. Have you considered calling dr to see if they can orchestrate you getting some fluids. They can do it out patient at hospital and others have said they have iv bars and people that come to your house even. That may be a good place to start.
  18. I didn’t think the dumping was really a thing with the sleeve but haven’t had anything really fattening or greasy yet. Guess I have that to look forward to.
  19. Did you have the sleeve or bypass?

    Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?

Not sure if a lot of people know this (I didn’t) but you can go back to hospital as an out patient and get fluids. They put you in room with a chair and tv and hook you up to same iv you had in hospital. I had to go get two bags of fluids after I got home. I called dr and said urine was dark and they called hospital to set it up.just so you know it’s an option of you can’t correct it at home.

    Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?

I have the Baritastic app installed but hadn’t started using it yet because my team hasn’t given me calorie goal yet. Just protein and amount of ounces to consume although I’m sure it’s not much because i am still on soft food diet so it’s just meat and veggies. Well, plus two protein drinks which is 250 calories but one of those is a shake and I have it for breakfast most days. I just started Baritastfic when you mentioned it today though so I will let you know.
