I Reached My Goal!!!!!
ShoppGirl replied to HealthyLifeStyle's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congrats 🍾 -
Idk. I even told him that I didn’t use it for BC (husbands had vasectomy) so technically I COULD go off it but would rather not and he said it wasn’t necessary.
-
I did not have to stop taking my pill at all. I guess like Everything else it varies from one surgeon to the next.

I am due for my second COVID vaccine tomorrow and have heard from a couple people that if not super hydrated it causes headaches and I’m a little concerned because it takes all my might to get in 64oz and I can’t get more than that. Anyone else have issues with not being hydrated enough post surgery and side effects?

What is life like after?
ShoppGirl replied to DD87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don’t think it’s silly to do before having children. Having surgery while younger will obviously decrease your chance of comorbidities that occur with long term obesity but you will also have less excess skin having surgery at a younger age. You will have to be careful sticking to your new way of eating throughout pregnancy but that would probably be better for the baby than a bunch of processed junk anyways. Think about it, thin women get pregnant all the time and lose the weight afterwards relatively quick after. If you do a poll on this site most women will say their only regret about the surgery is not doing it sooner. -
I agree with lizonaplane. At first glance I just read caffeine and thought about coffee or soda but they tablets may cause their own issues or they could be harmless. I would be certain to clarify.

I am five weeks out and on the BC pill to regulate my period. I have been having breakthrough bleeding daily ever since surgery. Not enough to need any products, just enough to notice on the tissue every time I go pee. I am glad to know that it’s probably surgery related cause I was beginning to wonder.

Thank you for your responses. I went yesterday at 1pm and so far so good so I think I am in the clear. I drank as much water as I could yesterday which was 80 ounces and I was floating (weird cause pre surgery I drank a gallon a day). Anyways, I figured if I were going to have symptoms I would have woke up this morning with them and I feel fine so hopefully I was worried about nothing. Thanks again for calming my nerves.

Good idea asking for a box so they wouldn’t know how much you ate. They also would believe that you like it or you wouldn’t want to bring it home.

What am I doing wrong? Did I make a mistake?
ShoppGirl replied to Mark P3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Try not to freak out too much. It is impossible to eat the way we are eating and NOT lose weight. Stall or no, your trend will be downward and the stall will let up shortly. -
I got a card like that on amazon That asks to allow you to order off senior menu as well. I think the senior menu would probably be more nutritious than children’s menu. You can also ask to order off the lunch menu. I have done that while on diets. I will probably just order salad when I can eat it.

I agree that sounds good. I was just looking at a recipe for Buffalo cauliflower. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchen/buffalo-cauliflower-with-blue-cheese-sauce-3362800

Can’t say that I do either. Sorry.

Any April 2021 surgeries?!
ShoppGirl replied to KidaandRoux's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good luck 🍀 -
My doctors office said milk of magnesia but I would definitely check with yours first just in case. Also, they told me to add fiber until I can get more vegetables in.

What is the LAST thing you eat everyday? (Not pills)
ShoppGirl replied to Tim C's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
SF pudding with protein powder. -
I was going to suggest the “ranch dressing” as well made with a couple tablespoons of the dry ranch mix @jnfinney mentioned with an individual Greek yogurt. Also a little bit of Vidalia onion dressing mixed in adds another flavor and one other I would love if I could get past the looks of it is to mix in avocado and Greek yogurt (I assume you can have avocado but you should ask to be certain).

What did you wish you had right after surgery?
ShoppGirl replied to Flounder's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well when I was In hospital I wished I’d had brought dry shampoo because I was supposed to stay two nights and my hair gets oily. I even sent my husband to get it, but then I was released the next day anyways. I still wasn’t allowed to shower that day but at least I was home alone at that point. I didn’t have a bunch of pain though. Doubt I would’ve cared if I was in horrible pain. -

I have found the lemonade crystal light to be the most tolorable. Regular and pink lemonade aren’t too sweet. -
Increased Anxiety since surgery
ShoppGirl replied to Lorey_a's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have a little more anxiety since surgery as well. I think it’s all the what if’s that comes with all the changes we have ahead of us.
