Part of what I hear is exactly that but also it is said in small groups of others who are also vaccinated it is not necessary. Yet the vaccine is not 100% and they say that the variants may breakthrough the vaccine so idk. I asked because I really don’t know. I will wear in public just in case I could be a carrier but I don’t think That’s how it works. In private, however, with other vaccinated people I am tempted to relax a little, yet also afraid at the same time.

What about after the vaccine, do you feel it’s safe to go in public without a mask?

I would like to know the answers to these questions as well. I have appt tomorrow and hoping he clears me for normal diet.

How about starting to be able to see certain areas instead of trying to blindly shave there. Much easier!! -

Any April 2021 surgeries?!
ShoppGirl replied to KidaandRoux's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am almost 6 weeks out now and I have experienced a little of this. My team said to expect it. I notice I am just more sensitive than usual at times. It seems to be happening less frequently now though. -
sleeve post op hunger
ShoppGirl replied to amira fakih's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you have a therapist that specializes in eating disorders. A lot of people on here with eating disorders do and they seem to help them a great deal. You really shouldn’t be experiencing actual hunger since the hunger hormones are gone but there are lots of other ways you may feel hungry that a therapist could address with you and help you learn to deal with those feelings. I know that I feel the need to eat when I am board. I have to think how long since I’ve ate and there is no way I am actually hungry so I distract myself with something else but it’s more complex for some people. Hang in there. It gets easier. -
How Long before you feel normal again 17 Days Post-Op

Did you Just stop the Leda pro cold Turkey. Most doctors have told me that you have to wean off of antidepressants. I only took lexapro for a short time years ago so I don’t remember but I have had to wean off of a number of them to try new ones. I would talk to your doctor about that. -
I think I am going to save my jeans and athletic wear. I have been up and down with my weight so many times and Those things, along with underthings I always seem to wear again even years down the road where my tastes seem to change and I do not really like the shirts with the exception of a few favorites. Plus, for me, the jeans and athletic wear are the name brand expensive stuff and most tops are not. I will purge and save a smaller portion though.

One glass of wine....
ShoppGirl replied to Hopefulin2021's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No judgement. I have craved worse than that, Believe me but I keep reminding myself of everything I have done to get to even get the surgery and everything I have gone through after already and it gives me the strength to just wait a little bit longer. Just think, it will taste that much better when you finally do have it. -
I had my surgery 3/9 so I didn’t think I’d have anything to offer but I never read the horror stories about the eggs and they were on my puréed food list and I just tried them and had no issues either. I guess it’s like everything else, Everyone is different. Just wanted to be a non horror story to help you build up guts to try them someday. Lol

Gastric Leak and food capacity
ShoppGirl replied to Baba Raba's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I did not have a leak to speak of. I stuck with the 2oz that was recommended. I did not even feel the restriction until soft food stage though so I could have eaten a lot more but stuck with the guidelines the dietician gave me. Which was hard cause I really wanted to FEEL that restriction but I trusted the process and it was there when I got to that stage. -
First of all congrats on celebrating ten years and I wish you many more to come. Like jaelzion suggested I would try it at home first. It could hit you much harder than before and for some the sugar can even cause dumping. I don’t think this is as much an issue with sleevers as bypass but still a possibility you don’t want to deal with on your anniversary. I would pay attention to how long it takes to get out of your system too so you can sorta gage how long you should wait between drinks as to not get totally blitzed.and I don’t think I will ever drink and then drive again since I read that it takes way longer to get out of your blood and varies from person to person so no one really knows exactly how long you should wait but maybe some of the vets can give better advice on that one.

What you were eating in the Pureed & Soft Food Stages
ShoppGirl replied to Lorey_a's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don’t have anything original to say except the infamous ricotta bake during purée phase was a lifesaver for me. I have issues with consistency of foods and the consistency of purée food makes me feel ill if it’s not supposed to be that way so I are a lot of applesauce and ricotta bake. https://bariatricbits.com/single-serve-baked-ricotta/ -
What is the first thing you eat or drink everyday?
ShoppGirl replied to Tim C's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just checked these out online because you are about the 30th person that I heard mention them and I noticed that they do have regular strawberry in the 42g protein if you didn’t know that. Idk if that is too high of protein for you or you don’t like it. Just thought I’d mention it in case you didn’t know they have it. -
Looking good. Keep up the good work.

Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first
ShoppGirl replied to chiquitatummy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I’ve noticed that I have already been able to handle the heat a little better in south Florida after 30 pounds. Granted it’s not summer weather yet and I won’t lose it fast enough to be able to handle it this year but next year I should. You reminded me of that because my husband lives outside and in the summer I rarely see him cause it’s just too hot for me. -

My goodness I just went back a handful of pages and cannot believe the chefs in this group. I hope that’s not a requirement to be successful sleever because I am in trouble. I had king crab legs and veggie skewers for dinner and that was fancy weekend dinner for me. I got nothing on you guys. -

Any April 2021 surgeries?!
ShoppGirl replied to KidaandRoux's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Most of my tastes seem to be the same so far it’s just the protein shakes that taste super sweet now. And I bought the variety pack before and after surgery. It must be one of the artificial sweeteners? Idk but the dietician is the one that warned me it may happen so it does happen to other people. I was going to stock up on a sale at Sam’s club and I’m really glad I didn’t because my favorite pre surgery which was cinnamon roll flavor tastes horrible to me now. -
To calculate a goal weight we are supposed to use 60% of ideal body weight but WHICH ideal body weight should we use. I am 5’8” and I’ve used various calculators giving ideal weight of 141 up to 160’s. Which calculator did everyone use and did you use a 60% loss of excess as your goal or some other weight? Why??

The ricotta bake is a fan favorite on this site. https://bariatricbits.com/single-serve-baked-ricotta/ -
Good for you. I’m hoping that’s the case for me too.

I would call dr if your still nauseous. They have medication they can give you. It’s real important that you don’t get dehydrated and it’s hard to do if your nauseous. I was one of the super lucky ones that didn’t experience that post op but I’m sorry that you are dealing with it. It does truly get easier one day at a time. Hang in there.
