    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

They are expensive but it’s an investment in yourself. Most nutritionists try to get you off the shakes as soon as possible and getting your protein from real food. To do that you will be spending more on food though so just keep that in mind. These are not really temporary expenses. They are lifelong commitments.
  2. I made chicken In the insta pot at that stage and it was very moist. I think that is the point of using canned. Maybe your dietitian will allow that.
  3. Before surgery I met with the dietician once to explain the pre op and post op diets. Then in the hospital I seen a different one that briefly explained the post op stuff again. I haven’t seen or needed to see her since.
  4. You may also want to try not drinking 30 minutes before or after meals a few times although you don’t have to do that in the beginning because food is not solid but it was good for me to just know o could do it. Also don’t forget no straws.
  5. Mine was less than two weeks. Maybe they have a cancellation list that could get you in sooner. Or another doctor at the practice??

    Pancakes!

What are powdered peanuts? Do you make yourself from whole peanuts or is it like PB Fit?? Or something else like almond flour??

    Pizza

That ricotta bake is pretty darn good. In a pinch it would work with regular pasta (maybe chicken pea pasta now) if out of lasagna noodles.

    Recipes ideas

I just learned that my hospital has nutrition class as well as post op support groups and they are considering starting cooking classes. If they do I will post the recipes as I learn them but you may consider asking your facilities dietitian if they will do something similar.

    Congrats on your surgery date!!

    Coffee

My doc said caffeine was even okay like one cup at two week post op. Assuming you aren’t having problems getting your fluids in cause that’s why they say not to drink it is it’s a diuretic.

    Surgery in 2 hours!!

    Good luck 🍀
  12. You know they have panara soups at the grocery store now too. I love the broccoli cheese one. Had some today for lunch.
  13. Sorry, just excited. Just finished two weeks post op and dr said I don’t have to do purée anymore as long as I take it super slow and easy. I am soooo glad cause I hated that stage worse than liquids. Anyone have any other super soft and moist recipes? I haven’t even checked my book yet I just came home and made a chicken breast In the instapot first thing. Lol
  14. I got some mini quiche today after you mentioned it and I heated up 4 for dinner. It was perfect and so far I’m tolorating it just fine.

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

Hello and welcome. You will definitely find advice, support and motivation here on this site. Second to the surgery, joining this site is the best decision I have made for myself. People are so kind and helpful. Congrats on your surgery date and don’t be too nervous. We all were but it’s a good decision and the day will be here soon enough. Best of luck.
  16. One thing someone on here suggested and I was so glad was pajama pants. Forget the robe cause of all the wires but you will want to cover up when waking outside of your room. Dry mouth spray and chapstick will also be helpful but other than that maybe an iPad or phone if you are awake but you will mostly just want to sleep at least the first day.
  17. Never thought of broccoli cheese soup. I love that. I was technically on purée phase till my appt today but I guess he sorta switched me to soft food phase since he said I don’t have to purée the salads anymore.

    Excruciating Pain Post OP

Hopefully you already did something about this but if doctor office is closed they should have someone on call that you can talk to but if you are contemplating going to ER you probably just should. Trust your body. If it says something is wrong it probably is.
  19. Try different temperatures of the fluids to get more down. Mine was easiest over Ice but most people have said Warmer is better. Even hot cocoa has been a tip. I had a problem with getting enough fluids and I called my dr and told him urine was dark and they scheduled me to go back to hospital as outpatient and get two bags of fluids. That really helped.

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

Trust me. I bought a new robe and two nightgowns even. But didn’t use any of it. Brought pajama pants too based on someone’s comment on here and it was all I needed.

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

Yea and you will have all the wires attached after surgery in which you must wear their robe so no point to bring that either unless you want to ask them to unhook all that so you can change gowns which most people don’t feel up to all that.

    Sick of protein drinks

They have them in other brands too. Idk what it is about them that bothers you. I just like the premier cause it’s the higher protein count. Just type clear protein though there are several.

    Sick of protein drinks

Also consider clear protein drinks. They aren’t nearly as sweet which was mg issue with shakes after surgery. Premier protein has fruit punch and peach flavor on Amazon.

    PCOS and sleeve success?

The 50% is after a little regain for the average person. They consider you to be a success if you lose and keep off 50% of your excess weight. Most sleepers loose around 60% excess weight but gain back a little. That being said the actual range is very broad so it could be quite a bit more or less and I’m guessing these extremes are depending on how much effort you put into it.
  25. Also on soft foods I am allowed chicken salad. Maybe ask if you can have that??
