    Gastric Sleeve BMI 35

My BMI was 36 and I am three weeks post op and also think I am taller than they measured me (posture just bad with heavier breasts) so I may have been 35 BMI. I wish I had done it sooner and just paid for it cause the younger you have it the less lose skin you will have.

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

My pre-op diet was similar and I only went like every other day.

Starting out on Soft Food Diet

I have that one. I used it during the purée stage. It’s delicious. In fact I am making more tonight. I just made a pan of it and put it in the 2oz cups because I didn’t have any ramekins and that worked fine.
  4. I would ask your prescribing doctor to write something saying you are on rx that causes weight gain and give that to insurance with other appeal paperwork.

    Rough morning

It will get easier. I craved food when I was watching tv because I always ate them out of boredom and at first I had to do other things to distract myself but now I can watch tv without too many cravings and when I do have them I walk back and forth from one end of the house to the other for about five minutes and that seems to help for some reason. Whatever your habits are will change to newer, healthier habits and it will be well worth it.

Starting out on Soft Food Diet

Wow that seems like a long time on soft foods. Although idk how long I will be on soft foods it just says until dr clears you... I guess that could be 6 months. I hope not. I am getting board and I am just starting soft foods.

Starting out on Soft Food Diet

Thanks. I called the dietician and got some additional guidance. It wasn’t what I was hoping. Basically fish, chicken and Turkey in addition to what I can already have. I guess that’s something. 😉 Does anyone have any recipes?
  8. At least it doesn’t sound like Scale has gone up for you yet. I weighed this morning and I was two pounds more than yesterday. 😫
  9. My team told me probably two nights but they let me go home after one. I had little pain and was getting fluids down as expected for that point and urinating fine. I ended up having to go back as outpatient to get two bags of fluids though cause of signs of dehydration.

    Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?

I was March 9th and I am down 10 pounds from surgery 25 total. I am doing great though. No pain and not a lot of hunger at all. Some when I’m board but I just ask myself why am I hungry and it’s usually just boredom. I am hoping that this summer in south Florida will not be as dreadful as I will be losing weight as it gets hotter and hotter. Ooh and mine stays the same for days too so I shouldn’t weigh everyday but when I wake up I always check anyhow. Lol

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

I had a special soap for use three days before. It’s just to help prevent post op infections.

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

Wow were their this many people in March. I am fairly new to the forum but I was too excited to notice if their were this many others in March I guess. Congrats on your fast approaching surgery date.

Rant. I’m adding to the post WLS divorce statistics

I’m so sorry that this is happening to you. Have you considered a bariatric therapist that is also marriage and family counselor for the both of you. I’m sure there is such a person with the statistics being what they are.
  16. I used to drink a 12 pack of Coke Zero daily. I thought I would miss it soooo much but I quit three months before surgery in case I had trouble (switched to Crystal light) since surgery though I drink water and don’t miss the crystal light or the soda one bit. I actually PREFER the water. The artificial sweeteners are too sweet so I bet if I tried a soda I wouldn’t even like it.

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

I talked to my gynecologist about this surgery and he said he has known sooooo many women to have it and even those who have experienced complications still are glad they went through with the surgery. It would be interesting to know if that’s the same case with the community here.
  18. Sorry. Brain fart. I was thinking calcium but reading and saying vitamin C (thinking same thing). Sorry.
  19. I thought it was the iron in the multivitamin that we had to separate from vitamin c by a couple hours because it prevents the vitamin c from absorbing as well. You don’t take them together do you? If so and you notice vitamin c levels are low keep that in mind as possible reason.

    Lettuce-9 months post op

I am still only 3 weeks out but I had an acquaintance at bowling who’s brother was a gastroenterologist I think...anyways he said that lettuce is very hard for our bodies to digest and the chopped greens (you can buy them that way at supermarkets now) are easier. Maybe that will help.
  21. Only thing my dr told me about was soda so far. Popcorn also makes sense though.

    No Weight Loss

I am experiencing the “three week stall” right now. Rest assured though, you can’t eat what we are eating and not lose weight. I think our bodies just fight it cause they literally Think we are trying to die.

    Ignored

I am fortunate enough to have the support of my husband and best friend but that is all I told. Between them and this site I feel like I have all the support that I need. I agree that you will not feel ignored on this site if you give it time because this has been the most supportive group of people I have ever known. i have only been a member for like three weeks now and I am already talking about constipation with more ease than with my own spouse...and getting helpful responses about it too. And when I messed up and ate food I wasn’t supposed to it was this site that calmed my anxiety that I had ruined everything. We are all humans but have so much more in common here. If you still feel isolated and ignored consider talking to the therapist for your team. They truly do have a lot to offer during this journey and a big part of it is taking care of your emotional health.
