    Hospital stay questions

I wore the clothes I wore home (with fresh undies of course) and stayed in the gown the whole time with a pair of men’s pajama pants underneath (since the hospital gown is open in the back). I had similar concerns about a bra and bright a sports bra with me but between all the tubes and wires they attach to you making it seem like a puzzle and just being tired I honestly didn’t care so I never put it on. Also, one of the incisions is pretty close to where your bra band could rub it. I took a small duffel bag with my phone and iPad (with a ten foot charging cord), extra undies and toiletries. You may want dry shampoo if your hair gets oily because you won’t be able to shower right away. I was able to go home the next day thankfully because mine is a hot mess if I don’t wash it every day.

  3. Would it be easier with those little bikini razors??

    Waiting period question

All insurance is different. Mine accepted medical records from another doctor prior to satisfy part of the required visits. That’s a question for the bariatric coordinator I believe. Ooh, and it’s six visits not six months (at least it was for mine) so that only takes five months from your first visit. Hopefully that will help. I had one visit with my primary doctor that qualified so I had to do 5 visits taking 4.5 months from first appointment to surgery date.

WHERE ARE MY AUGUST 2021 PEEPS?

    Congrats.
  6. One thing I took that I was really glad I did was an extra long charging cord I ordered on Amazon that charged iPad and phone.
  7. It could also be that you are focused more on water if you weren’t before.
  8. As far as I know you are only allowed to eat what they give you at the hospital. Mine was broth and crystal light. The nurses had water and popsicles and stuff like that.

    At My WHITS END

I agree, if you must go back to protein shakes. I have the premiere protein caffe latte ever morning for breakfast. It does have caffeine though not sure if that is okay on your plan.

    Driver's License

That was smart. Last thing you want is a reason to get held up while traveling.

    Lost

I would ask the surgeon in detail what they will do to prevent clots and then either explain it to family or ask someone to go with you and have surgeon help explain.

    Feeling down

Did you set any NON scale goals for yourself?? My dr had me fill out a form with such goals for times of stalls.

    Sweating less after intense workout

Take Wellbutrin. It causes excessive sweating without even working out. Just kidding but seriously did you also change any medications cause that really could be why.
  17. Greek yogurt also makes a good dip if you add in ranch dressing mix.
  18. It really just depends on the surgeons schedule. I know someone who was self pay at my clinic and they were sleeved within 2.5 weeks of Their initial consult. I think that was just so they could do the preop diet.

    Staying Occupied Post-Op!

I brought my iPad logged into Netflix and that was more than enough to occupy me the little time I was awake and not walking or drinking or eating (broth).

    Question

I had to watch a video, they gave me surgical soap to bath with before surgery and I had to sign some papers.

    Driver's License

I hate it too. Sams club is even worse.
  22. I have started with the stuff that I don’t really like or that will not be in style and put things that are really expensive or I liked a lot into vacuum sealed bags labeled with the sizes. I figure them I can go through and donate more as I get further and further out from each size.

    Update On Me (Surgery: 5/19/21)

60 pounds is definitely noticeable. Perhaps it’s harder to see with the baggy clothes. Maybe they are more baggy than you realize.

    Update On Me (Surgery: 5/19/21)

I don’t know about the Lao band removal part but many of us who get the sleeve have very minimal pain. I had nothing other than my stomach felt like I did about 1000 crunches.
