I also forgot to say most of us have weird periods After surgery for several months so the fact that you have your period could just be surgery related -
Positive pregnancy test after gastric sleeve
ShoppGirl replied to Sabsab's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think you would be best to see a doctor and get a test done ASAP. They can also discuss with you the risks to the baby from the X-ray and surgery and being pregnant during this process if you are indeed pregnant. -
Positive pregnancy test after gastric sleeve
ShoppGirl replied to Sabsab's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Didn’t they do a pregnancy test at the hospital before your surgery? I know they had to wait for the results of a blood one for me cause I couldn’t pee. I guess you could have conceived just like a night or two before and it not show up on a urine test yet. If you are though and you choose to stay that way I suggest you talk to your surgeon and see an obstetrician ASAP so they can help you navigate getting the essentials for yourself and baby during each stage post surgery. -
I didn’t have any issues with temperature either. Drank protein shakes over ice and broth was hot as normal.

Congrats. 🎉

If you want to exercise and when you do you feel like you are losing too much weight you can introduce healthy fats into your diet such as avacado, nuts/ nut butters and healthy oils. That being said. I am almost 7 months out and the only exercise i do is walking.

What are some exercises I can do in bed
ShoppGirl replied to FootballMom92's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I agree it’s best for everyone to consult a doctor before beginning exercise. It’s too easy to hurt yourself. If you just call them they can probably set you up with a physical therapist (possibly even one that will come to your home). -
To meet my protein goal at 7 months out I still have a protein shake for breakfast daily. I have the caffe latte flavor so it’s like a coffee drink that’s premade. Makes it so much easier.

Different clinics will vary drastically on this. I have heard of people who take vitamins anywhere from flintstones to CVS to bariatric. My clinic insists on bariatric. I take pro cate health bariatric vitamin with iron. It’s a capsule and it’s one a day supply has the same as bariatric advantages chewable that I had to take twice a day. Early out I took the bariatric advantage because it was chewable.

Glad to hear you are feeling better and about your NSV’s. Congratulations.

A little rant about the grocery store and overly friendly men. LOL

I absolutely know what you mean. I have gone up and down with my weight so much and noticed the way that people treat me differently so much that now even my very fit husband gets it (because I have pointed out examples to him so many times over the years). He will even joke and say Your at your cruising weight maybe i Should take you to Home Depot with me cause I don’t know where something is. Because it never fails when I am heavy I can’t find a single sole to help me but when I am thin (also with a larger bust) I can’t fend off all the help I get. I mean to the point that it is just ridiculous. Sometimes it makes me feel good for a brief moment but then I almost feel bad For feeing good and part of me wants to scream that I am the same EXACT person that Was totally invisible just a short time ago. -
I recently had a month long stall but the loss picked back up. Hopefully yours will too.

Anyone ever try the carbanada pasta? on Amazon? I tried it pre surgery and didn’t think it was bad but there weren’t as many servings in the bag as it said so I had to recalculate the calories. I think some of the noodles broke in shipping so more fit into the measuring cup and it threw off the serving size. I don’t have personal experience with this but the doctors are pretty keyed in to what the insurance companies tend to do. I would say if they told you to lose it to trust them. Plus, it’s much easier to lose some weight than to lose all your weight and to keep it off.

Surgery scheduled for 11/1
ShoppGirl replied to KikiDee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Looks like others have covered the essentials you need. The only thing I will add is not to stick up too much with post surgery foods and protein shakes especially because some of our tastes change post surgery especially with sweet things. I wouldn’t worry too much about excess skin. I was worried about it but so far I am 17 pounds from goal and I have none. This is the smallest I have been in years though so I’m thinking I may get some with the last few pounds. Most people on here say that even if they got a lot of excess skin that it’s still better than being overweight. And if it’s really bad it could be covered by insurance to get it removed. -
My stomach growls after I eat as well. I think it’s digesting and maybe because it’s smaller we hear it more. I honestly don’t know either for certain. Sometimes it’s really loud too.
-
Idk if this helps but the NP told me that we are supposed to eat to prevent hunger rather than to eat when we are hungry. Since surgery I have been eating by the clock and it seems to work for me. Between three meals and two snacks I eat a small portion every three hours and I know when I feel hungry between meals it must be head hunger cause I just ate.

Swerve is one that measures cup for cup the same as sugar but I find it to be extremely sweet. Like to sweep in my opinion. It’s too sweet in my opinion. I am holding on to it hoping as I get a little further out it won’t be too sweet.

The nurse called me from hospital the day before surgery as well but one of my medications I needed to be off of a few weeks before surgery and the surgeon told me when to stop that one. Did you list the phentermine on the paperwork you filled out at the surgeons office? If so and you needed to go off it sooner they should have told you. (But it couldn’t hurt to ask just in case they missed it). As far as the pre-op appointment timing that’s definitely a matter for your team. I had almost a month between the two but I have heard of people getting a call with cancellation appointment available for the same week and they must do their pre op much closer to surgery day.
-
I misinterpreted something in my paperwork and I was panicked as well. I just called my clinic and the NP assured me if I didn’t have any pain that I was fine. Maybe just give them a ring for peace of mind.
-
Wow your before and after look more like mother and daughter. Congratulations.
-
Im sorry this is happening. I would be upset too, but try to look at it as a chance to practice your post surgery habits ahead of time. Maybe you can even lose a little weight pre surgery which is just less you have to lose later.
