It seems to me that your loss is pretty normal (unless you had an extremely high BMI). Some of us are slower losers than others but time and time again I hear of people who lose the weight even if they are slower losers. I’m not sure where you read about 5-15 pounds a week but maybe they meant per month??

Please help! 15 months post!!! And confused
ShoppGirl replied to Dalila Davids's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am only seven months out so I can’t say from experience but if I were you I would slowly add in healthy fats like avocado, nuts/ nut butters and healthy oils as well as healthy snacks but maybe at 100 calories at a time till I found my maintenance calorie amount. You may lose a little more doing it this way but you can always gain it back if you really want to. Many people have about a ten pound gain after they reach their goal anyways. -
Surgeons seem to be all over the place with where to start. All of them do labs and adjust from There individually. Best to listen to your teams plan and make Certain to show for follow ups and labs.

No, but I guess it would be like a meat lasagna (sounds good). It wouldn’t be a good idea during purée stage though, when most people first have the ricotta bake.

Craving sweets 1 month post op
ShoppGirl replied to alandk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you on regular food? I can’t remember if I was at one month but if so Hershey’s makes zero sugar candy bars that taste exactly the same to me. And one serving is FOUR little bars so if you eat just one it’s not bad calorie wise. It’s of course not on plan because it’s empty calories so I shouldn’t recommend it but i had them. I figured if it’s this or the real thing this is a better option. Just make sure the first time you have it at home cause the artificial Sweetener (I think it’s called malitol) acts like a laxative for some people. Another option would be quest candy bites. They caramel one is really good and at least that has some protein in it so it’s more on plan. The only problem Is they don’t seem to carry them in stores (at least not near me) but they sell them on Amazon and they are very tasty little treats. The Hershey’s brand candy bars they sell at Walmart. -
Found some Keto cookies that look good. Basic choc chip. I think I would make them with Splenda. https://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/keto-cookies-recipe/

I was going to suggest beans as well. Loaded with protein and not as stinky as fish when heated.

Good for you. You look great!!

2 Months post op… suddenly not being able to eat
ShoppGirl replied to Nikki-leigh's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If I were you I would keep a log of exactly what you eat when you feel like This and then get in touch with your nutritionist. Dumping can also happen because of fat?? Not sure if you considered that as a possible culprit. And some people develop food allergies like dairy?? A food log will help eliminate these things. -
I don’t think it’s from the weight loss but I got dehydrated quick right after my surgery. I had to go back to the hospital as an out patient to get fluids one time just a few days out.

How many days in the hospital?
ShoppGirl replied to mrsjo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only spent the one night in the hospital. It was supposed to be two but I didn’t have much pain and I was able to drink as expected so they let me go a day early. I am not working right now so I can’t speak about that but I know from these forums that people vary Drastically with how much time they take/ wish they could take off of work. -
Congrats 🎉

I am amazed at your will power to not even try a bite after smelling them baking. They look delicious. -

Congrats 🎉 -
Does it need any water? Don’t laugh I’ve only used it to steam veggies thus far.

Thanks.

Anyone made this in an instapot and know which settings to use. I got rid of my crock pot for space to store it when I got the instapot since you supposedly can make anything in there but I haven’t quite figured it out yet. Pint size mall rat I just read your post. Do you recall what settings you used?

Help. What have you done to break stalls early in and slow losing
ShoppGirl replied to ctsaunde2's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I just got out of a month long stall. It was very unsettling but I just stuck with my plan and it did break. I too am a slow loser. I guess I would’ve preferred to lose it faster but I am 17 pounds from goal (13 from “normal” BMI) and still have no loose skin (possibly due to the slower loss) so try to think of it as a positive. -
I am 7 months out now and just went through a month long stall. It is very unsettling but they do happen and they break eventually. When mine broke I dropped three pounds really fast which somewhat offsets the stall (I am towards the end so 3-5 pounds a month is about all I have been losing). Just stick to the plan and the loss will pick up again.

I was able to eat more than expected at each phase including soft and solid food as well. Even now at 7 months out I have to measure my food so I do not eat too much as I do not always feel my restriction after eating a full serving size. This concerns me for when my hunger comes back but for now I just measure.
-
Do you not still feel your restriction? Maybe you have trained your mind and don’t realize it but you are eating smaller portions if That is not kicking in.

I agree with lizonaplane, some depression and anxiety is common post surgery but your sounds clinical. I would seek out a therapist, bariatric if possible, but if the waiting list is like it is near me I would see a regular therapist in the mean time.

Non-Dumping Syndrome Dizziness and Nausea?
ShoppGirl replied to JDenby's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would definitely contact your team as that is not typical if it is not dumping. They should have some answers for you.
