    psych eval

Most likely. It’s an insurance requirement for most and still a surgeon requirement for some that self pay.

    Food Before and After Photos

My copycat Panara Bread Cobb salad. Minus the pickled red onions and substituted ranch yogurt dressing. 377 calories

    PreOpt Diet

Wha t ate the requirements of your pre op diet. Usually they are pretty specific.

    Triggered

Congratulations on being sober going on 10 years. If I were you I wouldn’t get too hung up on the label (unless having a name helps you somehow) if you have any type of disordered eating I would see someone who specializes as such. Not all therapists are equipped to work with disordered eating. I know it’s not easy thinking about establishing a relationship with someone else but if your therapist doesn’t happen to work with disordered eating as well I would really consider it as it is a very specialized field and you want to set yourself up to have the most success post surgery. I am not saying to replace your therapist. Just see someone else as well for disordered eating.

    Mad at myself

I am sorry for your loss and that you gained weight. As others have suggested your tool is still there you just have to get back In your groove with your nutrition and exercise. I agree that where ever you choose to begin with the gym is a great start by just making it a habit getting there (I could take my own advise here). I think your idea to talk to someone may be your best. Keep posting your progress here as I’m sure you will have several of us here in your corner along the way.

    How was your day?

Since we don’t have a chat room, the intention of this thread is that there is no real topic to wander off from. Feel free to hijack my post. In fact please do. Lol.

Anxiety about calories in pureed food

Living in constant fear about food is no way to live and I’m not sure you are going to be able to maintain this lifestyle once your hunger hormones come back. It may be a good idea to speak to a bariatric therapist and find a happy medium between the all Or nothing thinking you seem to be experiencing. I hope you find some peace with all of this soon.
  9. Glad you are doing okay. I assume some pain is to be expected it sounds like they did quite a bit in there.

    meal kits for bariatrics?

I have heard good things about that baribox as well on here in the past. Never tried it but it seems like a great idea for us. Seems like they would show the food on a plate on their website and it may look more appetizing.

    protein powders

I Prefer the premiere protein premixed shakes. I tried their powders but it just never did mix up quite right for me. I like the caffe latte shake and still have one for breakfast daily at a year out.
  12. Sugar free popsicles help too when you are hungry and they contribute to fluid goal.
  13. Well the gurgling stomach takes a while to get used to but for me it is not hunger at all it is actually my stomach digesting. It actually starts while I am still eating. Some people do still have true hunger post op but it is only a few. If you are really hungry though some say that warm tea helps.
  14. I can’t believe you didn’t like the ricotta bake. I guess we really do have different tastes. I lived on that stuff. Not sure if your team allows it but I was also allowed mashed potatoes. I guess because you are eating such a small amount it’s okay during purée phase. Basically you can purée any soup that you like though. I mean technically you can purée anything but purée soup is less weird than purée steak dinner. I just couldn’t do the latter.

    Underwear

I second the idea to go to a doctor to document that it is a true medical issue. I don’t envy what you are going through now but you will hopefully be lucky in the long run that you do have enough of an issue that insurance will likely cover removing it. In the meantime, I have heard people mention the under armor products or similar.
  16. I wonder if it was the texture of the food or if it was the oils and stuff they use to cook it in at restaurants? Either way I agree steer clear for a while and maybe when you do try it again try eating the ingredients at home first one at a time and without all the extra oils and stuff. Many people do not tolorate rice well post op. I am fine with it but many say it just sits too heavy.

    bleeding

I would call their office and let them know. Maybe you need a stronger antibiotic or a longer course of it??

    How do i relate

You may have to ask her if you can continue to see her beyond The evaluation or if she can recommend someone else if she is too booked.

    Hair dye

I’m sure it will be fine.
  20. I think it will be okay but I would tell the doctor because better to have to reschedule than for it to cause some issue during surgery.

    Plateaued at 11 months post-op 😔

As we get closer to a normal BMI weight loss does slow down. For me it slower about 20, but Now I am 9 pounds from “normal” and I am stuck!! I don’t do a lot of exercise either other than walking. It is possible it’s just a long stall but if it doesn’t break soon you will have to explore the possibility that you have put yourself into maintenance. At that point you will have to log and see exactly how many calories you are currently eating and consider cutting them by a bit to start the loss again. You say you eat three small meals and don’t snack much but you would be surprised how much the calories can vary based on that. Maybe before cutting calories speak to your dietician because of the low BP and blood sugar (I am not experienced with those).

    weight plateau and energy loss

I agree it’s probably just a typical stall. Your lucky because most have them around three weeks out. Im sure the anemia is depleting your energy as you said. Hopefully adding a supplement will fix that fairly quick. Just keep sticking to your clinics plan and your loss will start again.
  23. I am also on bipolar meds that are not notorious for weight gain but they caused it in me. I have lost weight post sleeve but am currently sitting about 9 pounds from normal bmi and stuck. My team says this is not totally surprising to them because as they warned me, people with bipolar disorder statistically do not lose as much as others with the same surgery. I am still trying but I have accepted that this may be it for me. I think it’s the meds competing with the surgery and the surgery wins but the meds still kick in and decrease it effectiveness by just a bit.
  24. This definitely counts. Yay for you.
