Cheapest calcium citrate that works
ShoppGirl posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thanks to all the help on here I found a multivitamin that is okay with my team and is reasonably priced (ProCare). Now I need to find a cheaper calcium citrate. It can be the chews or a pill form. Suggestions please. -
Cheapest calcium citrate that works

Update: Okay so I just learned with the ProCare there is. 4.99 shipping fee but if you spend $75 it’s waived. They also have free samples you can request on their site. -

What do I need to do/buy to prepare?
ShoppGirl replied to *Paula*'s topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ooh yea. I did use the water bottle with the measurements on it early on as well. It was handy and a great way to know how you were doing at a glance, but now I use the Baritastic app to track 8 ounce increments. -
Idk. It sounds to me like you are doing well. I am five months out and I am down only 35 pounds since surgery 50 total. Have you tried crystal light. There are tons of flavors and you have to mix two packets for a gallon so you can even mix and match to make new flavors.

WHERE ARE MY AUGUST 2021 PEEPS?
ShoppGirl replied to phenomenally_me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I hope everything went well. -
Does that mean you were told you only need one of those a day? I was told I needed to take two. Weird how different the doctors are with where they start us off. Or did you just find it cheaper. I pay $37.95 for 60 (30’ day supply)I take the chewable ones with iron.

Getting very nervous and anxious
ShoppGirl replied to Vanessa Kiro's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was worried about a lot of the same things. I am five months post op and couldn’t be happier. I am 50 pounds down and I can eat any and everything I ate pre op just in smaller portions. Also, I had very little pain post op. No gas pain. I like to attribute it to the fact that I did really good on the pre op diet and the really shrunk down liver was out of the way so they didn’t have to pump me full of air or bruise my insides retracting it out of the way. I still don’t really know if that had anything to do with it For sure, but i think it makes sense. -
I tried it BEFORE the sleeve but I do recall it giving me more energy as well as no appetite.

Check out this thread. ProCare multivitamin was approved by my team and it’s like $11.99 a month (45mg of iron option) and the calcium citrate a lot of veterans recommended off brands and generics. Century 21 was one that I recall. But generic from Walmart and CVS were also mentioned.

What do I need to do/buy to prepare?
ShoppGirl replied to *Paula*'s topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I agree it’s best not to over buy because tastes change. I think the disposable cups are good for those of us in the clean your plate club who also don’t have super small restriction. I found that after my surgery I COULD HAVE eaten more at every given stage than I was supposed to be. The restriction was there. Just not AS STRICT as expected so for me those little cups were very helpful. You don’t have to get disposable ones if you don’t want though. Anything that measures ounces and you can wash it, the disposable ones were just handy to portion out a dinner to eat over the next few days. -
At that stage they didn’t even give me a calorie goal. Just a quantity goal. I honestly can’t remember if it was two or three ounces.
-
I would definitely schedule an appointment with your nutritionist or your team. It’s most important that you follow YOUR doctors plan so if you have any complications they can more easily narrow it down because you are in a certain stage that they have seen time and time again with other patients (if that makes sense).

I have experienced this too and my blood pressure at the dr was pretty low. He said it was still within the acceptable range right then but to keep an eye on it. Since I am able to eat more now (at five months out) this has gone away completely for me.for what it’s worth the dr seemed to attribute it more to likely dehydration than low calories though. He said to make sure I am getting enough to drink so I guess that can also be a cause.

WHERE ARE MY AUGUST 2021 PEEPS?
ShoppGirl replied to phenomenally_me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good luck today. 🍀 -
So I think I am stalled now but just realized I have lost 50 pounds including what I lost pre op. I was a little discouraged with the stall but I never could have lost 50 pounds by myself.
-
I agree with future skydiver that it’s best to wait. It was 8 weeks, I think, before I was given the okay to do anything strenuous.
-
For me it was protein I think. I say this because I never knew lack of protein could cause it until I was speaking to dr about WLS. I haven’t had any loss so far at five months out post surgery, but I have had significant loss in the past on diets where I wasn’t supplementing my protein.

What are all the Vitamins you take a day?
ShoppGirl replied to mzlove10's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just take a multivitamin and calcium, both twice a day. I had the sleeve. Some doctors require more. -
I am not sure about the ones pictures. I was told to take milk of magnesia.
-
Are you doing strength training? Perhaps your gaining muscle??
-
So far no regrets here either. I am back to eating and drinking everything I did before (except soda) in smaller quantities but I am 50 pounds down In five months. I agree with others that I only wish I had done this sooner.
