Did you make the actually taco cups yourself? At first I was thinking they were Tostitos scoops but they look bigger.

    Worst Vitamins so far

I take those as well. I did take the chewables immediately post op but it was actually just because they were first on the list my dr reccomended because I was able to swallow pills just fine. They have only upset my stomach once and it was because I took it first thing in morning after just a couple sips of my protein shake. Now I take it towards the end of the shake and I am always fine.

It might be less a restocking fee or shipping fees but you should be able to get your money back. I don’t know how expensive those are but it may be worth sending them back.
  4. If you go to that pound of cure weight loss.com site arabesque mentioned of Dr. Wieners you can view some of his videos. He has tons elsewhere but the one that would most benefit you right now is where you can view it. It’s “which weight loss surgery is right for me” and to get there just click on the menu at the top right then surgery and which surgery is right for me and the video pops up. I found all of his videos incredibly helpful. There is also information thete on self pay options.

    Best broth?

Someone else reccomemdwd the Walmart deli soups on another thread and just straining them. I wish I had thought of that. Their soups are pretty good. Almost as good as the panara bread ones and much cheaper.you can also strain any soup from a restaurant if you have a favorite one and it’s just broth.

I take the pro care health with iron as well. My labs have been perfect and I tolerate them well plus they are pretty reasonable price wise.

    Pili Nuts

I waited until I was back on normal foods. A little while after soft foods. I honestly didn’t have any issues tolerating anything that was in my phase though. I probably could have advanced through the stages faster.
  8. I didn’t think of it during the purée phase but I’m sure it’s fine. We were allowed to purée any food to the right consistency and it’s basically puréed cauliflower.

    Pili Nuts

Never even heard of them. I’m curious to see what people say though.
  10. Well hopefully they will fix you right up at the hospital and this will all be a blip on the radar very soon. Feel better.

    Pain after surgery

Yea with stuff like that and other lower calorie snacks and stuff I have to order a large quantity of or when they are just crazy expensive to begin with I try to think of them as medicine for my body. Because maintaining a healthy weight does help keep you healthy. That helps me justify the expense in my mind. I get it though. Hate to be stuck with a whole case of something that wasn’t cheap to begin with. Hopefully the protein powder in the soup will work out and you will be off this stage soon enough anyways. If not they may have singles of it at convenience stores??

    First stage liquid diet

If it Feels like you are working at fluids all day then you are doing it right. You are taking small sips all day long vs guzzling large amounts a few times a day. You will get used to it. It just takes a bit of time.

    4 days post op

Pretty much what ms.sss said, I always know if it’s head hunger because what I am craving is something I really shouldn’t be having (even if it’s sugar free I really don’t need chocolate right now) vs a craving for anything. Real food, even vegetables I don’t love sound good when it’s real hunger.
  15. I did not fly post surgery but have seen this question several times. Compression socks are suggested as well as getting an aisle seat so you can easily get up and down to walk. Since you have a companion they will be able to lift your belongings for you so you are good there. I personally think if you had a stomach binder on it would be more comfortable during any turbulence. Many surgery centers provide them. I had never heard of them because I didn’t join this site until just before surgery but I woke up with one on after surgery. They just hold everything tight and still.
  16. First of all you are not alone. I see posts like this all the time. Second of all as long as your restriction is still there your tool still works. It won’t be as easy as it was without the hunger hormone but It can be done. I have seen people do it all the time. Most people say they just went back to the basics. Track water, protein and calories and do protein first, eat slowly, etc.

    Pain after surgery

Hummm… i liked the premier protein clear in fruit punch, but I like salt (I use way too much) so I wouldn’t have noticed if it was salty. I just asked my husband to taste it cause he is one that chooses to eat low sodium stuff and he said it wasn’t salty to him for what it’s worth. I wish they sold them in singles somewhere. All I could find was the case on Amazon so I had to take a chance and got lucky that I liked them. I was thinking that maybe a gas station would have them in singles??

If you track everything you eat. Take that to your doctor or nutritionist and see if there are some things that you can do differently.

    Shopping in Bariatric Pal Store

I took their mixed berry flavor and I never noticed a pee smell. Lol. They definitely had a strong smell but it was vitamins to me. Hopefully that’s just the flavor and not one of the vitamins that smells gross to you. Where did you get your samples? Can you try another flavor??

    Pain after surgery

I tried mixing one of the protein powders with water and it was really gross. It wasn’t as bad with crystal light but I think I still had the bad taste in my memory (it was too soon) cause I couldn’t drink it all. Mine was genepro which is supposed to be unflavored but I could taste it and so could my husband.

I started mine with the pre op diet. Except surgery day of course and maybe a couple days after depending on how you are feeling.

do you not love the taste of the clear protein drink. There are so many different brands out there. The protein powder in the broth is fine if that works but if not keep trying the drinks and you should find one you like. I found that I only liked them ice cold so I would make small batches over ice. I have heard others who like all liquids room temperature. I never added protein powder to my broth but I think it was lizonaplane that posted the tip to mix the powder with a small amount of cold water and add that to the soup. Apparently it gets clumpy if you add it to anything too hot.

    Drinking & burps

I was able to meet my fluid and protein requirements very early out as well. It goes through you so fast that I don’t think you can possibly stretch your pouch. And if you had a leak you would have a bunch of other symptoms.
  24. Yea And it’s not like they don’t have time to go over all these things while we have to go back every month for weigh in’s anyways.
  25. Hummmm. I wonder if they have anything stronger?? I haven’t had any issues (fingers crossed) but many on here have. I bet someone will chime in if they do and have been prescribed something stronger.
