    SO FLIPPING COLD!

Cool. Let me know if you like them. If so I will order them for my hubby for his Christmas stocking, lol.

Am I being a big baby

Absolutely not. I feel like this idea of a higher tolerance for pain isn’t real anyways. Some people have more trauma to their bodies and so they have more pain than others. We all had the same surgery but all of our anatomy is slightly different so for some the surgery is easier for them to do than others. I think I got lucky on this one because i have a long torso which seems like it must’ve given them more room than they are used to to do their work. Most people are feeling at least a little better after a week or so but some take a little longer. However long it takes is okay. Be kind to yourself and you will be back to normal before you know it.

    Initial Appointments

Congratulations on starting your journey. Lizonaplane has a great suggestion. From my experience They don’t mind taking time to answer your questions at all But they don’t want to hang around if they think your done either so if you have a list it’s easier to make sure you don’t forget anything. Most likely you do have to do the monthly visits for several months so you will still get more chances to ask questions but after the initial visit you may see the NP until closer to surgery day. My NP was extremely knowledgeable and easier to talk to so I didn’t mind that at all. She answered all my questions and I had a lot. Lol

Ooh that sounds really good with the ground Turkey. And it looks very yummy too.

    Arthritis medicine after vsg

If I were you I wouldn’t suffer needlessly until then. I would call them and ask. The girls up front probably know the answer and if they don’t they shouldn’t mind checking.

    Arthritis medicine after vsg

I would ask your team. It seems like the issue with NSAID’s was because of the stomach and I doubt a cream would have anything to do with that. I am by no means certain of this so definitely ask though.

    Just Obese!

Congratulations. Keep up the good work.
  8. Ooh yea Duh. I forgot you are early out. Sorry about that.

    Cancelled Surgery

I agree with using all the other tools that helo those of us with weight loss surgery to include a nutritionist and a bariatric therapist. Sometimes I wonder how much of it is that and how much is the actual surgery since most of us do not do those two options until we are forced to in order to get the surgery. They are both VERY big components that contribute to success and they could help you without surgery as well.
  10. Great idea and then you wouldn’t have as far to go afterwards either. Maybe splurge and order room service. Turn it into a mini weekend getaway
  11. Congratulations on getting out of the 300’s. It’s a shame there is not a clever little name for that like onederland because it’s just as big of a deal. Yay for you!!
  12. Yikes that drain thing sounds like the pits. I wonder why some people need them and others don’t. At least they took it out right away though. I had something similar when I got a melanoma cut out. Mine was just the clear tube you mentioned, but it stayed in for a good week at least. It sounds like you are trucking along the road to recovery. You will probably take lots of naps for a while. Just keep walking and sipping and you will be back to yourself before you know it.

    someone to talk with

Hopefully more people around your age will reply to this but I would also ask your team if they have a support group or if they can get you in touch with anyone. Maybe they can pass your information on to some of their younger patients.

    Stomach Grumbling & Gurgling

Ooh yea many people mention this on here. My stomach starts the second I start eating and doesn’t stop for at least an hour afterwards. It’s funny cause at over a year out I don’t notice it anymore until someone on here mentions it.
  15. Congrats on your surgery and glad to hear you are doing well considering. I took a ton of naps too. I just went with it. My husband actually got a kick out of it.
  16. Two weeks out I would have been able to. Like ms.sss if anything I was taking naps still but if you have the time to rest and still go then you should be fine.
  17. Weird. Well for the OP if you search mini gastric bypass on this site you should see some of his posts that are very informative. If you have that option for surgery there are definitely reasons to consider it. A lot of us that go through insurance do not have that option…in the US at least.

    Virtual Trainer

Everyone is different when it comes to what is worth it to spend their money on. I learned that years ago when my husband spent like 20 bucks a beer at a club and I almost fell over. Lol. At the same time he would never spend hundreds of dollars on a pair of shoes and I find that to be a much better splurge. I think that spending money on your health is probably the best investment we can make so if having to be held accountable is what you need, Amazonsleeved, I say go for it.
  19. Yea, 45 mg of iron is what I was required to take.

    1 month results

Some people may have noticed and just not said anything. It is becoming less acceptable to say it because someone may be losing because of a medical issue or just uncomfortable with the attention of someone noticing.
  21. I do not have any experience with Mexico and don’t know much about increased cancer risks, but I can tell you that post sleeve I do not have any issues eating anything I ate pre op and no issues with vomiting.

    Cancelled Surgery

All we can do is what feel best in our gut. You can always change your mind down the road and start the process over. Best of luck to you.

    1 month results

Wow that’s great. I never took measurements and now at a year out I wish I had at least taken pre op measurements.

    Wonderland?

Yay. That’s awesome!! Good for you.
  25. Well I think that the good news is that they should be doing labs every three months for the first couple months so even if you do get a little behind it shouldn’t be too far behind I wouldn’t think. But Splenda makes a good point that if it’s Related to an issue that may resolve with weight loss then it may be safer to just take them.
