    So I learned something today

What about cirkul? They sell them online on their site or at bed bath beyond. My aunt swears by them.

    Hunger hormones

The majority of us do not have any hunger post op (some do but it’s rare). It’s most likely not hunger. As for drinking lying down I can’t see why it would hurt in terms of the surgery but you may not want to cause you may choke yourself??

hey. You know yourself and gotta do what ya gotta do to keep on track. I pretty much only do drive through so I don’t have to smell it.

While you are there I hear their grilled nuggets are pretty good too if you can have them. I haven’t tried yet so if you do let me know. I like their market salad with the suggested vinaigrette dressing.

That’s too funny. I am over a year out now and I just threw away a clear protein water that’s been in the back of my fridge forever. I just can’t stand the thought of drinking it. Plus it didn’t have an expiration date on the bottle and a i figured a year is kinda pushing it. lol

I am pretty sure that’s how they make it at chick fil a (their diet lemonade) if you didn’t want to make a big batch just to try.

Have you tried lemonade made with fresh squeezed lemons and Splenda? To me it tastes just the same as with sugar.

Yea I guess I sorta do the same thing with crystal light and my iced coffee. Especially the iced coffee. I treat this as a very low calorie snack, but I do add almond milk which is 30 calories a cup so it’s not completely calorie free.

6 days post op and 0 lbs lost

Alot of doctors recommend just staying off the scales for a while post op because the loss is so unpredictable. If you stick to your plan you will lose.

Are you allowed broth, SF popsicles and SF jello? I had so many of those thing between pre and post op phases that I don’t care to eat any of it ever again. A lot of people really do say that warm liquids help some so I would try that if you haven’t yet and if you are allowed caffeine try caffeinated tea or coffee. You could also call your doctor and ask if you can adjust your schedule to add a fourth protein shake. I would definitely ask though because some people medically can have too much protein.

If it’s just stomach grumbling it doesn’t necessarily mean you are hungry. My stomach post surgery grumbles often. Most often when it is digesting in fact. Don’t get me wrong some people do still have hunger post op but it is more of the exception than the rule. Sometimes it just takes a while to get used to hearing the sound that used to mean you were starving and Interpret it differently. Either way, some have said that warm liquids such as broth, tea or coffee help. Also, are you on PPI’s. I didn’t need them but some say they help. That it’s actually acid that makes you feel hungry.
  13. My pouch somehow was bigger so I have not felt “full” yet. At each stage I could physically eat more than expected for that stage so I have had to measure my food and learn to stop eating when I finish my portion and hopefully feel satisfied rather than full. The decreased hunger helps with that tremendously i’m sure. I couldn’t imagine that I could have measured out a portion and just stopped pre op.

    Hunger hormones

I lost my actual hunger post op but not the head hunger. I know this because head hunger emerges when I am board. I noticed that if I was just sitting around watching tv I was watching the clock for my next meal but If I was even remotely busy with anything I would forget to eat alltogether. I think alot of people may be board sitting home from work so they may experience head hunger until they get back into their routine. That’s just a guess though.
  15. I just bought some creamy hazelnut arabica coffee and it doesn’t have any nutrition information on it. It says right on it that it’s artificially flavored though so I would assume it has to have calories in it?? Do they not have to put it on there cause it’s not “food”??

    Am I eating too much?

Well if you are eating closer to the one ounce per serving all day I worry that you may not be getting enough protein. You may want to supplement with shakes. If you are closer to the 4 oz I think that is close to where I was. Everyone is different though. If your team gave you a plan I would stick to that.
  17. Most people are able to drink water relatively normal before they are a year out. It will be advised that you always chew your food well and eat slower because it allows you to get that full signal from your brain before you overeat but I don’t think everyone still chews 30 times at a year out. I know I don’t but I didn’t ever have issues with food going down. I chewed it really well through all the post op phases but by the time I got to normal foods I was only eating a little slower then I did pre op. I think I am the exception though in that. i get what you are saying about the risk. I am a little younger but I was a lower BMI as well. I was a 35 BMI when I started the process. A little Less at time of surgery. I was just beginning to get knee pain with heavy exercise though and I was steadily gaining like 5-10 pounds a year despite the yo yo diets so I knew it was just a matter of time before that started to limit me physically. I wanted to get ahead of it. It was also limiting me going out and doing things I enjoy simply because I felt uncomfortable or couldn’t find clothes I felt comfortable in, etc. I decided that life is too short to stay locked in the house not liking myself if there was another option. I am over a year out now. Down 55 pounds and couldn’t be happier that I did the surgery.

    my dinner

I was the same way at every stage I could eat more than expected. I just had to measure my food and eat how much I was supposed to but the process still worked.
  19. When I started getting dehydrated my doctor arranged for me to get fluids as an outpatient. I got a couple bags and I felt sooooo much better.
  20. I was really tired for a while. I just gave in and took naps. I wanna say it was a couple weeks out before I stopped napping at all.
  21. I haven’t had anyone say anything but I guess I would just say no my stomach does that when it’s digesting. I’m sure they really don’t care that it’s noisy. They are only concerned that you may be starving. Once you tell them you really aren’t it will be no big deal.
  22. My stomach makes all kinds of crazy noises too. It takes a while but you get used to it.

    Cravings

Yea I thought of that after my post and edited my comment to say that I know you can have it sooner but I’m really not sure what phase that would be in.

They make watermelon flavor in the Walmart brand crystal light. Would that help your craving?? Or watermelon flavored jello maybe??
