Just curious how everyone is calculating how many grams of Protein you need each day . . . are you using your current body weight or your ideal body weight? My doctor is advising current body weight, but my dietitian is suggesting going off my ideal body weight. It's about a 30g difference, and that seems pretty significant. Thanks in advance!

I was banded 5 days ago and have lost 7 lbs. since leaving the hospital, which I realize is from the liquid diet and not much appetite. I was just wondering how much of this weight loss will stick after I transition to mushies? Anyone's experience would be helpful.

Who got banded and had small kids to take care of?

I was banded last Monday, so 5 days ago. I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old. My mother took two weeks off of work to be with me during the day, when hubby is not home. I am so thankful! My surgeon said no lifting over 10 lbs. for 2 weeks. 5 days post-op and I am just now starting to feel better . . . soreness wise! I still can't bend down without some real discomfort. You will definately want help! Good luck to you! -
Just wondering if anyone used Dr. Dabideen in Flint, and had anything to say about him?

I met with the surgeon last week, and he did not sound very enthusiastic about the lap band procedure. I felt like he was really pushing the gastric bypass. . . which I do not want! Is ther anyone out there who can share their experience with deciding between the bypass and the lap band? Thanks in advance!
