I'm located in Manassas Virginia!! For those who need information regarding Mexico - I think it was great!! I had my band in 2004 and I have weighed 115 since 2005. I had two fills back in 2005 and I am still holding 4 years later!! In 2004 I jumped up to 164lbs and had two heart attacks - even though I have never smoked or drink -- after the band I have never had any health problems since!! Congratulations to all who have had the band and congratulations to all who are planning to get the band -- it will be the start to a great and healthy life!!! See the attached photo!!

Not sure why I got the earlier message about a refund - not me!! I got banded in Feb 2004 and I have been 115lbs since 2005 and I still love my band -- it is amazing -- I mean really amazing!! Has anyone had the band this long??? I am curious about other long time users. I haven't had a fill since Dec 2005 -- absolutely no complications but I want information on other long timers. I am very interested in attending the lap band convention and three more fellow employees who have had the band may be interested. I have weighed 115lbs for three years with my band -- I've had the band for almost 5 years now. It is such a life changing event and it gives you your life back!!! I love my band!!! I love life after having two heart attacks at age 40!!! The band is amazing I have tried to attach a picture of me as of three weeks ago. I had my lapband done in 2004. I have weighed the same 115 lbs since Aug 2005. I only had 3 fills done the first year. Are there any other long timers with the band? Any long term effects? All of my medical issues disapeared back in 2004 after the band. I went to Oasis of Hope in Mexico because I was not the required 100lbs overweight but I had 2 heart attacks with no health insurance. I started at 170 and ended at 115 and have weighed the same for almost 3 years. I would love to find others with the same back ground.

I had the band 2004. I weighed 170 5'2 and in Aug 2005 I weighed 115lbs and have remained the exact same weight for almost 3 years. During my first year I only had 3 fills. The last fill was in 2005. Being your old normal weight is an amazing dream come true. I had always been a size 2 my whole life, 20's 30's marriage -but then in 2004 I ballooned up to 170 had 2 heart attacks and the Dr. said that all us women are all alike -- we eat eat and get fat and think oh no I'm having a heart attack. I was a non-smoker, drinker and extremely low blood pressure. I started helping my parents who both have cancer in their 60's and I have been under major stress. The Dr.s in US would not let me have the band until I gained another 50-60lbs even after having 2 major heart attacks at the age of 40. I went to Oasis of Hope Hospital in Mexico and received the best treatment ever in a hospital. Being normal weight and healthy is a dream come true. Lets hear it for the BAND!!!

I was also banded in Mexico 2004. I have weighed 115lbs for almost the past three years. I only had to have 3 fills total the first year. I started at 170 but had 2 heart attacks at age 40 -non smoker & drinker, low blood pressure - but have 2 parents dying of cancer in their 60's so I was probably stressed out. The Drs here told me to gain another 50 lbs before I could even be considered. Thought maybe I would die first so went to Mexico -- the best decision I have ever made. I love my band - I love having my healthy life back. I live here in Northern VA would love to talk with other bandsters!!
