I got my band done in Italy with Dr. Favaretti and Dr. Segato. They are leading lap band surgeons who trained many american and mexican doctors. LAP-BAND: Laparoscopic Obesity Surgery Cost It was 12,000 US for everything to do with surgery, hospital tests etc... You just have to pay to get to venice. If you can find good aftercare near your house this is a great option. The are amazing Doctors. They like you to stick around for a few days after you are released from hospital to keep an eye on you but you could combine it with a vacation and enjoy italy.

Thanks for all the feedback. It seems to be a little better today (day 6) I also am self pay and got me surgery in Italy. My doctor has even given me his cell phone number but it is still nice to hear from other people that are going through the same feelings. I broke down to my husband yesterday freaking out that I had made a bad decision..maybe I could have done it on my own for good this time, etc.. (Yeah right). However after I had a good cry I felt alot better and realize that it had only been 5 days since surgery and of course things will get better. I woke up this morning feeling better already. Still tightness but not quite as hard to breath. I actually had enough energy to make avacado soup and play a game with my kids.. things are looking up! Oh and I guess it can't hurt that I have lost 11 pounds since surgery!

Since surgery on the 9th I have had a lot of tightness in my chest. It doesn't feel like gas, although maybe that is what it is? It feels like someone has a tight girdle pulled around my chest or maybe like a dwarf is sitting on it! Is this normal? there is no pain at all it is just a hugh tightness. Should I be worried? If it is normal when can I look forward to it going away. It is very uncomfortable.:crying:

Thank you for the post. That is exactly how I was feeling today, 4 day post op. My chest feels so tight. I just poured myself a glass of water as I realized I haven't been drinking much either.

Hi everyone. I have been reading this site for the past few months but this is my first post. I was banded on August 9th in Italy with Dr. Favaretti and Dr. Segato. They are awesome and I would recommend them to anyone. I was wondering how long this stuffed feeling will last. I ate a small yogurt and feel like I had a turkey dinner. I hear some people never need a fill as they feel enough restriction just being banded. My doctor told me I wouldn't need one for 3 months. My question is what are the odds I will stay with this restrictive feeling for 3 months? Anyone out there who has had one fill or less? Also I was wondering how you make one of those count down charts so I can keep track of the weight loss. thanks:smile2:

I live in Ljubljana and want to get the procedure done somewhere close by. Can you please tell me the name of the clinic you got it done in Zagreb? How much did it cost? Do you know anywhere in slovenia to get it done? thanks
