I’ve had a rough row to hoe since October. I wound up in an Ulcerative Colitis flare in October that lead into not one, but two hospitalizations with autoimmune pancreatitis. That’s been fun! Now I’m dealing with a possible ulcer in my pouch since I’m on steroids for the UC and I ran out of protonix two weeks ago and the OTC omeprazole isn’t nearly as good as the protonix. So my surgery weight was 251 pounds on 4/23/21. I’m down to 137-140 range. I like where I am and I want to maintain this weight.

Surgery 4/23. I feel nauseous today. Took a zofran, skipped the gym yesterday cause I just felt bad yesterday too. I go back to work the 17th. I’m down 26 pounds.

Surgery 4/23. I see my doc tomorrow....I’d love to get cleared to move to puréed foods. I go back to work next Monday, so I’d like to get some food in me...I’m so over liquids. I’ve been trying to do more. I still have some pain, especially when I go to get up. I think it’s the deep sutures. I can’t bend over and do anything, it kills me. I saw my doc last week and she took me off my BP meds, my BP was 88/56 in the office. So I’m not on any bp meds now! Now to get off the rest of the meds!

My surgery was 4/23. I had to go in yesterday to get fluids. I was dehydrated and having some issues. Mine is mostly related to my hernia repair. It’s been rough. I’m doing better with my protein and water intake today.

Wow...I am super sore today. My surgeon had to fix a huge hiatal hernia. So I’m super sore. Hard to get a deep breath. Walking sipping. I’m so glad it’s over though!

I start my PreOp diet tomorrow....surgery on the 23rd. I’ve got 7 days of work left. I’ll go back to work 5/10. I’m nervous and excited...not scared at all. I trust my team. They aren’t just OR staff, they are my friends. The CRNA is one of my most favorite people, last time I had surgery, she knocked my a$$ out. 🤣 Any recommendations on what to take in the hospital bag?

Most the time, insufflation is set at a fixed number. Unfortunately, a lot of people retain some of the CO2 and it causes discomfort. Best thing to do is walk it out. My surgeon does her best to try to get all the gas out before she closes. So I’m hoping I don’t experience the gas pain too much post op!
