    November Surgery Buddies!!!

Sounds like everyone is doing well. I’m down 14 pounds from surgery on November 9th. I haven’t had any problems with anything I’ve tried. I’m getting about 800 calories a day and about 70 grams of protein. Keep up the good work everyone!

    Nervous for the next stage!

No, I couldn’t wait to move on. So far I haven’t had any problems. If you are eating less, the scale should go down.

    Spasms after WLS

I had that too. I think I only had it for the first week. I didn’t take anything. Mine only lasted a few seconds and then would ease up.

    Home from surgery

Congratulations! You’ll feel a little better everyday.
  7. I’ve made a physical therapy appointment. My problem is in a different part of the leg. Sounds like if you don’t treat the problem, it can lead to permanent damage.
  8. I have numbness on the top of my thigh. I need to look into this. I’m glad you posted.
  9. That’s terrible! I’m glad I live in a state that is allowing medical services to continue.

Thinking of you and praying your surgery goes well!
  13. Sounds like I’m getting close. Congratulations on your success!
  14. You may want to get it checked out. The surgery aggravated my heart condition and my previous medications stopped working. I ended up in the hospital an extra week. I’m on 3 new drugs, but I’m hoping the problem will resolve as I recover from the surgery.

    Liquid diet

So far I haven’t had it at all. I’m one month out. Could it be lactose in the shakes?

What do non-cooks eat in the 4th month?

Do you remember when you started the beef jerky? Sounds like a great option to have handy. I’d like to try it, but it may be too early for me.

    Constipation

Maybe try some sugar free Gatorade or sugar free power ade to see if it helps with your thirst.
  18. Sams club had the Gatorade protein water the last time I was there. I also drank bone broth with protein powder — but keep the liquid under 140 degrees so the texture isn’t affected.

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

That sounds yummy Spinoza. Good to hear you are feeling well. I’m going to make the ricotta bake, but I’m adding ground turkey to the marinara. I’m going to portion it out into some 1/2 cup ramekins for my meals. I’m starting week 4 on Tuesday. With clothes on I weigh what I did last Tuesday, so I’ve lost at least 2 pounds since then. I’ll be 1 mouth out on the 9th.

how many calories at 6 months post op

I’m purchasing a 1 year supply of my vitamins if my first labs in February are good.
  21. Do you remember at what weight you stopped needing extender? I can’t wait to hit this point.

    Macros/calories

I’m eating 3 meals a day. 70-80 grams of protein. 700-800 calories. The scale is going down. I’ll hit week 4 on Tuesday. I’m eating soft food at this time.

What do non-cooks eat in the 4th month?

When I’m on the go I have chick fil a grilled nuggets with buffalo sauce, 8 mixed nuts, blackened chicken tenders from Popeyes, boiled egg with hot sauce, fruit cup, plain Greek yogurt or cottage cheese with seasoning, steamed chicken and vegetables from a Chinese Carryout, slices of ham wrapped around a cheese stick, or mashed black beans with cheese. I usually have a cooler bag with me so I can save the leftovers. I also pack a protein water or shake. I haven’t started regular food yet.
  24. That sounds terrible! But it will be over before you know it. I didn’t watch much regular TV during the pre op diet due to all of the food commercials and I tried to distract myself by going to parks, museums and doing things like that. A good thing for you is that you won’t already be sick of shakes by the time you get to the full liquids phase.
