Surgery Scheduled and Telling No One
lmsrny5 replied to ShanIAmVA's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I told my parents and my in-laws this past week after dreading telling anyone but my husband and close sister. My surgery is Friday. I felt obligated to tell my parents incase something awful happens. Neither of them have ever been overweight let alone obese and both of them hurt my feelings. We have a strained relationship already. I regret telling them. My MIL is wonderful and wishes nothing but the best for me. Work knows I’m having surgery but I haven’t said what kind. I’ve lost almost 50 lbs during pre-op so losing more weight won’t be a surprise- they know I’ve been dieting. I am using sick time and vacation during my absence so I didn’t have to fill out leave paperwork. I happen to work in the department that handles that stuff and I didn’t want my team or boss to know. I’m a pretty private person and just dread having people know. Working from home has been a godsend. I have three major events coming up this year where I will see my entire extended families. I’m curious to see if people stare or are brave enough to ask me questions. I’ve been heavy all my life. Highest was 280 something and currently 230. I’m 5’8” -
Severe pain in right side...

It’s sounds like the internal stitch is absorbing and causing muscle strain. Might need a muscle relaxer. Try heat -
The first 4 days were challenging and I was very grumpy and tired. Still don’t have much energy but not feeling hunger much. I’m hardly getting 700 calories a day when my diet says no more than 1200. No idea how someone can get to 1200 on what I’m allowed to have. Surgery is next Friday

3 protein shakes, 4oz of lean meat/substitute and 2 cups raw veggies per day. Clear liquids throughout day- can include diet juice. I’m day 8 and ketogenic. Half way there!

Thank you so much for the positive encouragement. I know I’ll get there. I’ve been really hard on myself because I don’t see any change in the mirror. I’ve worked so hard the last 7 months!

My surgery is May 7. Today is technically day 3 of my 2 week liver shrink diet. I’ve been practicing getting to this point since Easter and decided I could start a day early to hopefully get rid of the hunger block before Monday. It’s not easy. I’m hitting a wall today but mentally I am strong. My pre-op is Monday and I’ve officially lost 15.6% of my beginning weight. Started in Oct. the surgery is coming up fast after what felt like a lifetime waiting for the approval process. Good luck to everyone!

Covid Vaccine
lmsrny5 replied to HealthyLifeStyle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had my 2nd Pfizer shot last week. After my first shot I only experienced mild fatigue and a sore arm. After my 2nd shot my lymph node in my neck and arm pit was swollen and painful only on the same side as my shot. The swelling and pain is now gone. I’m so thankful to be vaccinated!
