HealthyLifeStyle got a reaction from mae7365 in Calorie intake vs. calorie expenditure
Thank you for saying this. I raked up the yard the other day. The next day I couldn't even move. I know that I overdo things now because of my energy level. I have to be more careful from now on. I didn't like how I felt the following day.

Oh, that last pound or two are the hardest. So close yet so far. I sat just off my goal for almost three weeks so I feel your pain. It’s like those numbers are just taunting you.
Catwoman7 is also right. A real good bowel movement or a night peeing can see the scale drop a pound or so. (Sorry if tmi.)
Try to look at your plateau as if your body is just sorting itself out & finding its new ... I so want to say its new normal but that phrase has been ruined forever. I know it’s easy to say that but it is sort of what’s happening. Your body is working out what it needs to function & maintain at a weight in relation to your calorie intake & activity level. It could just be your natural fluctuation around the weight your body is happy at. Mine fluctuates about 1kg (2.2lb) so similar to yours.
Congratulations on your weight loss. It’s a wonderful achievement

I can only imagine your frustration. Try not to be so harsh on yourself, we all know how a good poop can be the difference of that last pound. How Fluid retention can can push you up a few pounds....
You are there...you have come so far.....celebrate!!! crank your scale back a pound or two (old fashioned scales) or throw the scale out the front door and just Celebrate your success!!!

I lose a lb. I gain 2 lbs. I lose 3 lbs. I gain a lb. Up and down, over and over! I am so aggravated.
Just the other day I was only 2.5 lbs. to my goal, and I was so excited. Then today, I get on the scale, and I have gained 2.8 lbs.? WTH?
I just want to reach my goal so badly. Then after that, if I put on a few lbs. I don't care.
It's the actual wanting to just hit the goal weight. It keeps teasing me.
I haven't eaten anything I am not supposed to, or increased my portions.
I am more active now then I was before. It doesn't make sense.
I am so strict with myself, it isn't even funny. UGGGHHHH

I freaked out when I was losing my hair. I was losing clumps of it at a time, and would literally cry in the shower. I even resorted to measuring it. I was losing approx. 3-4 grams every time I washed it (every 4 days). It happened in months 3-6.
Now I am almost 7 months out, and happy to say that I am not losing anymore. I know it will take a while for it grow back, but that is ok as long as I am not losing.
My nutritionist recommended that I start taking Flaxseed Oil 1,000 mg a day, and increase my Protein. It worked! She also told me that none of the commercial products work.

You will have to exercise to get to your goal. Ummmm not true. I have not exercised at all due to my ailments, I can not do much physical exercise or I would be in too much pain. I am only 3 lbs. away from my goal, as of this mornings weigh in.

Well first of all, your family member isn't be too considerate knowing what you have just gone through. I understand that maybe that is what they are used of eating, but if your only there temporary, then maybe try to at least hide it from you?
When I was first out, I was so sick, I couldn't even drink Water. When my hubby cooked something, the smell bothered me so much, I had to go outside. I suppose I was lucky in that sense.
Now I am close to 7 months out, and hubby still eats foods that I can not. The other night, while watching tv, he was munching on some caramel popcorn, (one of my favs). I was like really, your just gonna sit there and eat this in front of me, knowing that I can't eat it. I had to settle for some raw walnuts, to satisfy my munchies.
That being said, I don't expect hubby to not eat what he wants, can, and will in front of me. Most things don't bother me, but certain things do. I just try to eat something healthy instead. It sucks sometimes, but I get over it, knowing that if I eat what he is eating, that I would get sick.

Just made breadingless chicken cordon blue:) I don't do Keto, but I think this one could work for you:)

Smash chicken breasts flat with hammer
sprinkle on a few blue cheese crumbles
    top with slice of ham
    Add chunk of swiss
Roll this up tight, secure with a toothpick
salt and pepper (if you want to bread some for your family, just roll in italian bread crumbs and leave some plain for you...that works great...my family just likes them plain)
bake at 350 for about an hour

    Terrific flavor profile, all protien.

I am now able to clean the house. I felt so bad for my hubby. He would work all day, then have to come home, cook, take care of the pets, and clean the house too. The fact that I am able to now help him, is a huge relief off my shoulders. I used to feel so guilty about it.

I had so many stalls so far. It gets very frustrating. Mine lasted for 3-4 weeks at a time. I am currently in one now. Trying to get to my goal weight now for about a month. I keep getting within 3-4 lbs. then go back up again. Uggghhh so aggravating. I just keep telling myself that its temporary. Just keep up the good work, and eventually it will get past.

You will find that people react differently when you tell them. My parents, and husband were in full support of my decision, and have been my biggest cheerleaders during this whole thing. I am now just over 6 months out. I just saw my parents yesterday, and they were full of compliments. I generally see them once a month.
Hubby was very supportive in the beginning, but now he is a little weary of my loss. He keeps asking if I am going to lose more. He has said that I am starting to look to skinny, and sickly. At first I was pissed off, then I realized that he is right. I don't want to keep losing, but it is just happening without me trying.
My sister on the other hand has been nothing but a b***h during this whole thing. She has said very rude things to me around Christmas time. We have not spoken since.
The way I look at it is this, I did this for myself, and no one else. I did it for my health, and the weight loss is just a bonus. I only told those that were close to me because I felt it was nobody's business what I do with my body.
Easter is coming, and that means I will see cousins, aunts, uncles, who I haven't seen since my surgery. I am sure they will ask questions. I honestly don't know if I will tell them about the WLS, or just say I was dieting, going to the gym, etc.

If I was the one buying all the groceries, and then is also paying for the more expensive Protein Snacks, I would be pissed too. Did you calmly explain to him that you prefer for him not to eat your "special" snacks. I think if you approach it in the right way, he would understand. If not, then he better kick in some money. LOL
Hubby, and I always used to eat off each others plates, and it never bothered me. Now since my WLS we eat separate meals. He doesn't like most of the stuff I eat, so it's not a problem.

I am looking for some advice on how to stop losing weight. I just want to maintain. I already increased my carbs, and portions. I never thought I would be asking how to STOP losing weight, LOL. I am just afraid I am looking too skinny now. My face is starting to look old, and drawn out. My collar bone is sticking out, and it doesn't look good.

I knew beforehand that I wasn’t going to tell anyone about my surgery. I only told my mother and my husband and a friend who had the same surgery done years prior. I don’t think I’ll tell anyone in the future either. I just don’t think it’s anyone’s business...

Well times have changed. I went for the 6 month checkup on 2/23, and was told to start taking the same Vitamins, but with 45 mgs of Iron. Now I am severely constipated. I am in a lot of pain, and have hemorrhoids so bad that I can barely sit down. I purposely ate more sugar to see if it would make me dump, and it has not worked. I am so frustrated right now.

The main one for me is no longer being a diabetic.
Don't have to use a cane, or a wheelchair to get around.
    No more C-Pap machine.
Fibro has got a lot better, decreased pain.
Going from 13 meds to only 3.
Much more energy. Not sleeping for 14 hours a day.
Not sweating all the time, having a red face.
Feeling healthy, eating good for me foods. Feel good about myself for once.
Fitting in my car a lot more comfy, being able to wear my seatbelt, without it squishing me.
Much more comfy in my bed, lots more room to move around.
Actually looking forward to going to the beach, and wearing a cute bathing suit.
So many more things have changed. My outlook on life is much more positive now.
