I can not fathom how you could recoop after having so much surgery at once. OMG! You must have been unable to do anything at all. -

Continued Nausea, 8 Weeks Out
HealthyLifeStyle replied to Kebochape's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hello when I was in my first 2-3 months I was so sick I couldn't even drink water or eat anything. I lost 40lbs in one month because of it. Not good. My doc had to give me a script for a nausea patch that you wear behind your ear. It did help a little. Then I discovered peppermint tea and it helped a lot. It was basically the only thing I could tolerate. I still drink it now when my belly hurts or feels sick. Food didn't start tasting good until almost 6 months out. I am 9 months out and now I feel much better. Hang in there, it will get better. -

Advice/Suggestions for Reducing Anxiety
HealthyLifeStyle replied to Christy-Lynn's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I take Ativan twice a day. I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks. I had them before the surgery, and also after. -
No matter if taken after meals, vitamins make me NAUSEATED!
HealthyLifeStyle replied to SBFARRIS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc wouldn't let me use the patch. I had to take nausea pills and still try to take the vitamins. I literally stopped taking them and didn't start back up until almost my 5th month out. Now I can tolerate them just fine. -
Hi all, I am close to 9 months out and am wondering if anyone this far out still gets nauseous from time to time, and feel like they can't eat or drink. Mostly happens at night during dinner. After dinner even if I don't eat that much, I start feeling sick. Sometimes I have to lay down. I can not drink anything after dinner time. I make sure I get all my water in before that.

What one thing do you wish you'd known before having surgery?
HealthyLifeStyle replied to FutureSylph's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well my collarbone is all bone. My neck is what make me look older than I am. It is so hollow. My eyes are sunken in and really dark underneath. Sometimes it looks like I have a black eye. I have been trying so hard to eat a little bit more, even if its just one or two more bites. I also have been eating carbs, but nothing is working. I will call the nutritionist tomorrow to see what I should do. -

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? I feel I am too old to get a breast job.... -

I suppose I could try to get a proper fitting. I have never done that before. Don't know if I would be too embarrassed or not? -

Did you have all these surgeries done at one time? -
So this is weird.....the hair on my head is thinning, and getting shorter every time I wash it. However, I am starting to grow facial hair, on my chin, and cheeks, and dark shadowing on my mustache area. WTH is going on? Does this have anything to do with WLS? It is freaking me out.

I thought I was or should be smaller band size. For some reason even though I am in a size small shirt, my band size is still 36. If I go to 34 its too tight. Yes I did mention plastic surgery, but that is for a tummy tuck. I would never or at least don't think so right now have a boob job. -

I am 9 months out. When did you start gaining/looking healthy again? I don't even care if I gain. I just want to stop losing at this point. I saw someone today that I just saw last month and she was like OMG your so thin! I got mad at her and told her not to say that to me. Of course I apologized to her, but my initial reaction wasn't what I thought I would ever be at. -

I eat slowly. So slow that everyone is done before me, and my food is always cold. -

Nothing lost

Please be patient with yourself, and your body. Everyone is different, and has different experiences. Good Luck -
I eat Progresso Lite Soup almost every day. I only eat the Chicken Pot Pie, and Meatball (I take out all the pasta of the meatball one), then I add 1 entire small can of chickpeas (more protein and fiber), 1/2 small can of cut green beans, and 1/2 small can of sliced carrots. It makes the soup thicker, but also easy to digest as green beans, and carrots are the most easily digested veggies. I make Greek style Turkey Meatballs (found the recipe online). It's just ground turkey meat (I use the white meat), with spinach, feta cheese, and a few other ingredients. I make a double recipe and freeze some. I put 6 in each container (I can only eat 2 for a meal). Sometimes I put some marina sauce on them, and other times I eat them plain.

What one thing do you wish you'd known before having surgery?
HealthyLifeStyle replied to FutureSylph's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That I wouldn't be able to stop losing weight if I wanted to. I am having a lot of trouble maintaining, and keep losing. I am too skinny and look sickly now. I know people have told me I will gain some back hopefully in the next few yrs. but right now I look awful. My face looks older, my eyes are sunk in, and also black. I am not happy with the way I look. I think I looked better when I was heavier. -
I was also a diabetic before surgery (for 7 yrs.) and used to be addicted to diet coke. After surgery I tried to drink some crystal light, and it was disgusting. All I could taste was the aftertaste of the fake sweetener. It gave me gas, and made me poop. I can only drink water (room temp). I used to love ice cold water with lots of ice cubes, but ever since surgery can not drink it cold? Not sure why. Once in a great while I drink flavored hot tea with nothing added to it. Now that its getting warmer out, I will only be drinking water. I do get sick of it, but I know it's the only thing I can drink, so I really don't have a choice.

I only drink water or maybe tea a few times a year and that is it for drinks. I do eat cukes almost every day, and I started eating watermelon recently. I know that both of those have a lot of water content. I never thought about the phlegm in my throat (thought that was from allergies).
