I am having a very hard time eating breakfast. It doesn't matter what it is. I feel full after only a few bites. This gets better as the day goes on. Lunch is fine, etc. I get up at 8am, and wait until 9am to eat thinking that if I at least wait for an hour I will be hungry, but I am not. I force myself to eat as much as possible, but it is very little. I don't eat lunch till 12, and I am not hungry in between. I am almost 6 months out. This has always happened. I thought it would get better as time went on, but it is not.

I only tried the vanilla ones, and didn't care for them. I will have to try the chocolate ones, everyone says they taste so good. -
Can you eat Popcorn after Gastric Bypass?
HealthyLifeStyle replied to Tana Lynn's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I just tried these, and love them. I was never a huge fan of popcorn. Hubby eats it all the time. I took a bite of his, and went back to eating my edamame. -
I wouldn't be exercising to lose weight necessarily. It was just because my arms have been feeling weak lately. Knowing that you didn't start until 2 yrs later, makes me feel a lot better. TY

Dumping on empty stomach
HealthyLifeStyle replied to lynmcg's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Yes, It helped me as well. Also I noticed that if I eat before bedtime, I have this problem. I stopped eating after dinner now. -
Not only has that changed for the better, but I am off almost all meds except 2. I was on 13 prior to my surgery.
-
Everyone's plans are different. I would call your doctor to see exactly what they want you to do.
-
Yes, I am going to try to lift some because my arms are weak.
-
I didn't realize that I would only burn that many calories. TY for letting me know. I feel more comfortable trying now. If I do anything, it would be because my arms feel weak.

Yet another stall & gaining
HealthyLifeStyle replied to LAJ23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery 8/24. I had a hard time getting out of the 160's. I bounced back and forth between 164-168 for about 3 weeks. All of a sudden, I weighed myself, and I was in the 150's. I only weigh myself once a week, sometimes a bit longer. I was doing it every day, and getting frustrated. If I gain, or lose a few pounds I don't panic over it. I just keep doing what I am supposed to. Now I am at the point, where I have been in the 140's bouncing back and forth between 140-142 for the past 3 weeks. My goal is 135. If I stay at the weight I am now, I would prefer it. I am too skinny (blv it or not). I look awful. I almost wish I was back in the 150 range. I feel that is where I looked best. Don't lose faith. It will just happen naturally as long as you are doing what your supposed to. -
I couldn't take the chewables, without getting sick. I had to start the regular ones after only 2 months post op (per my doc). I take Pro Care Health brand Multivitamin Iron Free. I do not take any calcium chews, or pills.

Sugar Free/fake sweeteners drinks
HealthyLifeStyle replied to HealthyLifeStyle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
TY for posting this article. It is very informative. Now I know that IF I decide to have a diet coke once in a while, I won't be so nervous about it. My doctor had me so scared that it would stretch out my pouch. -

It is soooo different for everyone. I was told I could never eat bread, pasta, rice, potato again. If I choose to do it, only in tiny portions. I have not tried it yet. I am dying for pasta!! I used to eat it at least twice a week before the surgery, and I miss it. I think I will wait until I can eat a little bit more to try it. I still get full too quickly. I know I won't enjoy it right now. Your right about figuring it out for each of us too. It seems like every docs advice is varied. I did notice, especially people not from the US, that it is a lot different. -

Me too. I never really ate it either. I am just trying to do it because of the scheduled plan we are supposed to follow. -
Hard to eat in the AM

Ok, good to know that I am not the only one who has a problem with it. Sometimes I try oatmeal, but again, I can only eat a few bites. I can't even eat 1 egg. I eat like 1/2, and I am full. I think your right about the stomach resting overnight. That is what it feels like in the morning, like its starting up again. -

I am not a fan of protein shakes. I couldn't even do them in the beginning. I tried so many different kinds, but still couldn't find one that I liked. -
I had really bad neuropathy in my feet before surgery, due to being a diabetic. It is almost 6 months later, I am not diabetic anymore, and the neuropathy in my feet is actually getting worse. My doc gave me gabapentin(1200 mg per day), and it is not working. I have tried just about every cream/rub out there, and nothing is working. Last night was the worst so far. I literally could not sleep due to so much pain. Can anyone suggest anything that they have tried to get rid of the pain? I had the bypass, and am not allowed to take any Ibuprofen, etc. I don't even think that it would help, if I could.

Is anyone on a schedule for eating. I eat bkfst at 9am, lunch 12pm, snack 3pm, and dinner 6pm. Wondering if anyone still eats at the same time every day. How many times you eat a day?

Portion check in
HealthyLifeStyle replied to FindYourFire's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello I am almost 6 months out. I am still doing 3-4 oz of chicken/turkey/ fish. I can't really eat steak without getting too full quickly. I have not tried to eat pork yet. I don't know if I will. I still get full very easily with just small portions. -

Wow 1400 calories! I am still not anywhere near there, and I am almost 6 months out. I am lucky if I can eat 600-700 per day. I am too full to eat more. I have to force myself to eat sometimes. I don't know if I will ever get to 1400? Maybe in a couple of yrs? -

I can't blv how diff everyone's plans are. It seems like my docs won't let me do anything at all. No soda, alcohol, fruit/veggie skin, no pasta, bread, rice, etc. -
I just tried "eat me guilt free" blondie brownie for the first time. It was great! I will def buy again. I can't wait to try the tuxedo flavor.
-
Where is everyone getting recipes from? I am sick of eating the same thing. I am almost 6 months post op, and looking for something different.

Is there a recipe forum on here?
