    "Head Hunger"

My head hunger is real. I can eat my little bit of food, be so full, and keep thinking that I want more. Maybe a cookie, or brownie, or pc of cake. Something that I would have eaten before surgery. Something I know I can not eat know. Something loaded with sugar. Like real ice cream. I was a huge ice cream fan, and used to eat it everyday. I also used to eat candy everyday. I would love some chocolate right now. I know if I even attempt to eat these things, I will just feel sick, and guilty. Not sure which one is worse at this point.

    ONDERLAND!!!! and NSV's

That is great!! I also remember (not that long ago), when I hit the 1's I was exactly 199, but it felt so good not to see the 2's anymore. It is such a great accomplishment. Have fun on your vaca.

Friend saw me for the first time in 3 months...

My sister is the one giving me crap about my surgery. She has always been skinny, and I was always chubby. When she saw me at Christmas time, I had lost about 60-65 lbs. She never said one word about my weight loss. Finally, my mom asked her how did she think I looked. Her response, though she barely looked at me, was "Oh maybe I will have to give her all my clothes that are too big for me now". She said in a very sarcastic way. Then she said, "I guess its easy to lose weight when you can just have a simple surgery, and cheat your way out of it." Then she continued to talk crap about how most people can just go on a diet, not eat so much food, and lose weight if they really had to. OMG, now I was getting mad! She knew I had to have the surgery due to being a severe diabetic. The weight loss was a bonus. When it came time to eat dinner, all I could eat was a little bit of food, and then she made a wise ass comment about that. We have never been close, but this was a slap in the face. I haven't talked to her since, and don't really want to.

    2 Months, 50lbs, Image issues?

I lost 75 lbs. I have always carried most of my weight in my belly. I am top heavy, and always had small legs, and ass. My belly still sticks way out, and now my legs are even skinnier, and I have no ass at all. I have lost weight in weird places. My neck area looks weird because you can see my bones, also in my back, and shoulder area. But guess what.....I still have a big belly. I hope it goes away soon. I have to wear larger pants just for my belly, and then they are big everywhere else. People lose differently. All we can do is just wait to see what happens. When I look in the mirror straight on, I think I look ok, but when I turn to the side, UGGGHHHH.

    DUMPING SYNDROME

I am close to 6 months out, and I dump all the time. I don't eat anything if the sugar is over 15g. I still dump. If I eat one bite too many, I dump. It seems like no matter what I do, I dump. It is ridiculous at this point, and very frustrating. I see my doctor on Tuesday for the 6 month follow up. I have so many ?'s

    Jealous Spouse

So I would say that this may be something similar. He is there supporting me, but he is also trying to lose weight on his own. He is not a candidate for the surgery. He only has to lose about 30 lbs. I am not looking fwd. to the nicer weather, wearing less clothing. He does get very aggravated if another man compliments me, or even looks at me. He usually won't say anything, but I can see it. I compliment him all the time. He is a very sharp dresser for work. I always tell him how nice he looks, smells good, etc. Make sure I give him a kiss goodbye, and hello when he gets home. He knows he has nothing to worry about.

    Jealous Spouse

My hubby said the same thing to me. He asked me if I was going to leave him for a younger model. I just laughed. He is being so ridiculous.

He is def not conservative. Probably more protective than anything. It is just weird to see this side of him.

Don't be sorry. I didn't take any offense to it at all.

    Yasso!!!

I love that they taste so good, it almost feels like cheating. LOL I recently had chunky PB & sugar free grape jelly on a 1/2 whole wheat pita, and I was in heaven. I was a huge PBJ fan before surgery. Maybe I shouldn't have done it because now I want to eat it everyday for lunch. If you had 2 Yasso bars, good for you. There are days when I say I am going to do it, but I am too full to try. No judgement here.

Raving about Yasso greek yogurt frozen bars. They are so good, and good for you. I am so happy I found these. I have tried almost all the flavors, and love them all.

    Jealous Spouse

Good point, I guess I am normal now, not skinny. Skinny to him though. That is a great idea to ask him what he wants to see me in now. I was very shy before being overweight, and never wore anything like lingerie. Maybe now, we can both benefit from it. LOL Thank you for the idea.

Lean Cuisine & Healthy Choice Meals

I just tried one for lunch today. I tried the chicken, basil one and it was good. I am close to 6 months post op.
  16. I recently started eating Lean Cuisine & Healthy Choice frozen meals. I only eat the ones with meat & veggies, which are hard to find. Most of them have pasta, and rice. My favorite is the turkey with veggies. It has a lot of carbs though from the sweet potato. Does anyone else eat these? Do you eat a different brand? Are there any flavors you like & want to share?

Some Surprises I didn't expect with WLS

My shoe size has also changed from a 10WW to a 9W. Even though I lost so much weight, my feet are always a problem due to neuropathy. Dressing in layers is something I never had to do before, I was always hot before. I can do housework now. I couldn't even vacuum before. My bum is completely gone, and it hurts when I sit down even after 10 minutes or so. The really weird thing is that my freckles have come back. I used to only get them in the summer. It is dead winter here, and they are all over my face. I used to drink ice cold water, and now can only drink room temp. The biggest one for me is that I can walk without a cane. No longer have to use a wheelchair to get around. I am sure there are lots more....it is a journey.

    pain relief post op

I was "uncomfortable", but not really in pain. I can tolerate a lot of pain. I refused to take pain meds, even during my 2 days in the hospital. I don't do good on meds, and don't like the way they make me feel.

    7 weeks out

I was just barley getting 400. I had a very rough start. My protein was severely lacking. I wasn't able to reach the goal until my 4th to 5th month.

    Rice, Pasta, Bread, etc

Right now the only carbs I get is from apples mostly. I don't drink alcohol so I don't have to worry about that. Even though I don't drink, we were told that we couldn't after surgery. Everyone's plans are so different. What they were told from their docs is very different.

Where did you get that shirt? I want one in my bday year.

    Rice, Pasta, Bread, etc

Sorry to hear that. I had a really bad recovery in the 1st month. I literally couldn't eat or drink anything without being sick. I ended up in the hospital because of dehydration. Had to have nausea patches behind my ears. I never thought it would end. Could be why I can't/won't try a lot of things. Even after I could start to eat a little more, I basically stick to the same things.

    OOTD

Thank you, even though I was a lot heavier, for some reason I never had a problem with my calf's. I always had skinnier legs, I was very top heavy.

    Jealous Spouse

Were you heavy when you first met? I was chubby, and hubby has indicated he likes me like that. He said he doesn't like skinny women. Well guess what, now I am skinny. Does that mean he doesn't like me? Attracted to me anymore? I asked him last night, and he didn't want to talk much about it. When I brought up the shorts, and halter comment, he just groaned.
