    Healthy versions of junk food

I recently bought a Quest cookie to try. I used to be a big junk food eater before the surgery, and was craving for something sweet. When I bought it, I was second guessing myself, wondering if this was going to trigger my before cravings, and I would want to overindulge. So what I did was only take 2-3 bites every day. It lasted a few days, and did not trigger anything. It was satisfying enough to get rid of my craving. I think if I ate them all the time, and one at a sitting, I would want them all the time. I only bought one, because I know if they are in the house, I will be more tempted to eat them. I also bought a "guilt free brownie" to try, and it was ok, but not delicious like I wanted it to be. I have some protein bars in the house, but don't really like them. If you feel like you will be triggered to eat the bad stuff, then I suggest not buying/eating them. Only you know what will work for you.

    Stomach Gurgling

I see that your quite a long way from surgery. I was hoping it would get better in time. It seems to be getting worse as time goes on.

    Rice, Pasta, Bread, etc

So I am now close to being 6 months post op. My doc told me not to eat rice, pasta, bread, etc. I was told that these things can stretch out your pouch? My nutritionist, on the other hand said I could try whole wheat pita bread. She also agreed with the doc, and told me not to eat rice, or pasta. I am craving pasta so bad! I was a big pasta eater before the surgery, having it at least 2-3 times a week. Did anyone eat pasta, or rice at this point? If so, how was it on your belly?

    Rice, Pasta, Bread, etc

I am 6 months post op, but I have Chrons Disease so I can't eat a lot of things. When I think about all the pizza I used to eat, it makes me feel sick. Hubby and I used to order a large peperoni with extra cheese, a large steak and cheese sub, fries, and chicken wings, and eat all of it at one time. Gross!! We always talk about how much food we used to eat. Now I can only eat 1 piece of small cheese pizza, and I am stuffed. LOL

Friend saw me for the first time in 3 months...

Isn't it weird how our own family members are non supportive? You would think they would be happy for us that we are doing something positive for ourselves. It goes to show that they are insecure about something. That is my take on it anyway. It sucks because I don't really have friends, so I look towards my family for support. My parents have been wonderful. My mom is my best friend, and cheerleader during this whole thing. She cried when she saw me for the 1st time, after I had lost 40 lbs. She is so relived that I am not diabetic anymore. I was really bad.

    Rice, Pasta, Bread, etc

A few people have suggested the Shirataki noodles. I may just have to try them. I have to stay away from anything "white", as I does not digest well.

    "Head Hunger"

Before surgery I ate a LOT out of boredom. Hubby was always working, and I was home alone. I also had a clean the plate household. It really does mess with being full or not.

    Jealous Spouse

Yea, I would like to think that he would think that way.

    Jealous Spouse

I have a jealous hubby. I don't know if jealous is the right word. Since I have lost my weight (75 lbs.), he is acting weird. We are only in February, but he keeps talking about the clothing I would wear when the nice weather comes. He asked me several times if I am going to buy some halter tops....LOL All I can do is laugh about this. I am 51 yrs. old, and I would never even think about wearing that. He also keeps asking me if I am going to wear shorts, (I never did being heavier). What should I do, if anything about this?

Protein drinks after 6 months PO

I tried the PB2, and thought it was awful. I only tried it a few times toward the beginning of my post op. Maybe I will try it again.

I don't wear bras anymore either, unless I am going somewhere. I wear shelf bra cami's. They are so comfortable.

    Lactose Intolerant?

I was lactose intolerant before surgery. I could at least drink Lactaid milk. Now after surgery, I find that even if I have a little bit of Lactaid milk, I feel sick, and get incredibly bloated. I did try the Almond milk, but do not care for it. Also, at 4-5 months out, I could eat cottage cheese. Now almost 6 months out, having a hard time with it. Weird?

    R.I.P. Boobs

I have gone from a 44D to a 36C. Maybe that is why hubby keeps asking me about halter tops....LOL

    Weight loss Insecurity...

OUch, it sounds like a very painful recovery. I get that you didn't listen to the doctors. I know someone who had this surgery. They also had a very hard time with recovery. It makes me a bit nervous.

    Weight loss Insecurity...

Oh I can see the difference. Did it hurt a lot after the surgery? How long did it take to heal? I am thinking of doing this.
