Reflux caused by EGD?
Who'sThere replied to Who'sThere's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thank you. I tried to sew what I could find about it, but I didn't find this. I go for my barium swallow in the morning and I will call his office or stop by right after. (The swallow is just behind his office.) Thank you again. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App -
Why is everyone converting from band to sleeve?
Who'sThere replied to futureskinnybtch's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I hadn't heard of the sleeve before I was banded, and this is kinda why I chose the band. I hadn't had a child. I had actually been told I couldn't but was still holding out hope....which is good because I now have a soon to be 4 year old, lol... In any case, I was scared that if I was pregnant I would not be able to nourish my child as well with RNY. I know lots of ladies do, but it was still a concern for me. What do you wish you'd known before lap band surgery?
Who'sThere replied to Sarah A's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I believe the reason one would knowingly consume things he or she knows will cause sickness is akin to the reason people continue to take drugs knowing they will harm the body, ruin relationships, and even potentially result in incarceration. In a word, that reason is addiction. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App -
Impending surgery date of December
Who'sThere replied to thurloj's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If I have surgery this year, it will be in December. If I can't have it in December, I'll have to wait until school is out. I'm a teacher, and I can't afford to take off too much work, so I need to use my Christmas break to recover. -

Seeking Advice from other LB Vets

If you want to have harmless fun do what I would do while camping. Grab a random food container and have fun with the questions and comments phone number on the back. In the spirit of this thread and the above comment I will share 2 of my favorites. I called Gatorade and said that I'd been camping for 2 weeks and hadn't bought enough Water so I'd been drinking fruit punch Gatorade for the last week and I had a concern. I was due home to my wife the next day and I knew that she would be worried about the fact that I'd been pooping red for the last couple of days. When the guy from Gatorade reassured me that it was most likely from the dyes in the Gatorade I said "boy am I glad to hear that it isn't from all of the butt sex that I've been having " I then asked if the dye is why I was having a hard time sitting comfortably. He kept stammering on the other end of the phone and finally hung up. The other was calling Skippy Peanut Butter and telling them that I have a nut allergy and I was concerned because I got some peanut butter on me and I was quite swollen. They went through an entire checklist before asking me where I was swollen and I told them that I used it as lube for butt sex and that my buddy hadn't gone down for 7 hours. Silence then muffled laughing on the other end with the lady saying that she couldn't help me. I then tried to pick up on her claiming that I had obvious abilities to keep going all night. She laughed and hung up. You are hilarious! I'll bet your wife has killer abs from belly laughing at/with you. Haha Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

I'm assuming this is to meet insurance requirements? If I have to do the 6 month supervised weight loss attempt, I will not be approved if I lose 10% of my body weight. For me, that's 27 pounds. I don't think I could lose 27 pounds in 6 months on my own. Yours, however, seems to be a very small margin. Is this to stay under BMI requirements? I'd have to lose a LOT to fall below the BMI reuqirements. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

We had to wash the sheets after fun in a hotel with baby oil and a tarp. Ya ever try to grab a crisco covered watermelon out of a lake? It was like that but a lot more fun! You, my friend, are hilarious! But, why wash she sheets? I'd call and ask for more. We actually get two beds...one for sex and the other for sleep. And just tip housekeeping well.... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

Oh, I didn't explain myself well, I guess. He was visiting HERE and said that $12 for parking was cheap, and I thought it was crazy expensive. Yeah, he said you can't touch it up there for under $40 anywhere. We were in a tourist town near my town. Near my town it's usually free. If not, it's only $3-5. And yes, we got off topic, lol...more interesting facts!! Those are fun.

BIGGEST NSV yet!
Who'sThere replied to highfunctioningfatman's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@, I think you are doing great! Keep up the good work. Work clothes, especially uniforms, tend to run really small for my husband. Your street clothes are going to be a better NSV for you. Also, I want to say that I always enjoy your posts. You have a great sense of humor and positive attitude. I know you are going to do great! -
Yeah, my friend grew up in NYC (Jackson Heights Queens) and said owning a car was more trouble than it was worth. One time on a visit here, he commented how cheap parking was. It was $12, and I thought that was ridiculous. We were in a tourist town. Most places are like $3-5 if you have to pay at all where I live.

You are very welcome! I'm glad it could help someone else.

Sounds good...nice to meet you, WLS. And I changed mine before anyone really knows me I guess. Mine was first initiallastname, but that's no fun. lol (Seriously, if I offended you by not calling you by your username, I'm sorry. I'm really not rude, I promise.)

Honestly, these are the nicest rides I've ever looked at. While hubs was truck shopping a few years ago, I checked one out...soooo nice...but who could afford the fuel??? This was when it was $4 a gallon here where I live. @@Babbs and @@Inner Surfer Girl -- I "won" a GMC Acadia Denali with all the bells and whistles because I was in the right place at the right time. I sold it to the dealer that GMC enlisted to handle the transaction. Where am I to park a monster like that in Manhattan? Beside, I don't lug around a Little League team. When I went to the dealership to do all the paperwork (I was required to take title), I was given a tour of the car which had just come in with all the extras the dealer had ordered, knowing what he could sell. I sat in it about five minutes and realized that it was nice to sit high and see everything. The next day I missed the big lug. Anyway, the bits of the Rock. Center tree are more unusual. ISG, I'll come to Hawaii to watch you surf.

Ha! Thanks, yeah, being shy hasn't ever really been a problem for me. And I think we have a very healthy attitude toward sex. Also, no, if something unfortunate happened, I'd be a little embarrassed, but he would be very sweet about it. He would make a joke of it to help lighten the mood, and we would move on. He would never make big deal about it. Oh, and in case anyone is wondering...I'm sure it happens sometimes, but I don't think I've ever seen any "evidence" on his member after anal sex. I'm sure there are microscopic bacteria, but it's not usually messy. Toys, now that's another story. One of my gay guy friends says, "If you are gonna play in a mudhole, you might get a little muddy. Wear boots if you don't want dirty feet."

Does it make me a horrible wife
Who'sThere replied to QueenOfTheTamazons's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
These are the two best replies I've seen! Spot on, IMO. Also, is your husband anxious or obsessive. Mine is. For him, taking care of someone is his was of dealing with that anxiety. That is another possibility. Oh, and as for the other guy who called you Debbie Downer, I think he might be projecting. I didn't get the impression you were downing your hubs for being lazy as much as making a general observation. Like he would normally NOT offer to get you a drink or whatever and would be the kind to ask you to get him one. I didn't AT ALL take your comments as intending to insult your hubs. -

Ain't that the truth! My momma took care of me while I was on bedrest during my pregnancy. I would thank her, and all she would say was, "It's my pleasure, Honey!" -
Hehe...I see what you did there!

Sorry. Had to laugh at how you came in with a serious question about how things could impact yer fun time with yer spouse and somebody comes in and schools you on sexual hygiene. Pretty sure you've already developed solid "penis wash" practices. Ah, I'm okay with it. The snark was the only response that bothered me. I think she felt I needed some education because I mentioned letting him come in my @ss. That shows that we don't use a condom for the act, and she thinks it's very important. Maybe she felt if I was uneducated about the need for a condom that I might not know about the need to keep it clean. (I'm not uneducated about the matter; I've read that recommendation, but we are willing to go without. We don't like condoms. We use other means of birth control and are monogamous, so I think we are okay. Condoms take away some of the spontaneity for me.) Honestly, if someone has strong feelings in regards to my safety, I appreciate the concern. It's all good. Some girls actually do A to V and A to M regularly. Maybe she thought I was a porn star. (I'm not a porn star; I just play one in the bedroom.)
