I'm an admittedly picky eater. Add to that an allergy to seafood and shellfish. I can't stand eggs and there are several veggies I don't like. (Zucchini, squash, Brussel sprouts all make me want to vomit!) I see lots of people discuss their daily meal plans centering on eggs and tuna or other fish or shrimp. Any suggestions for picky eaters like me? I'm post-LapBand pre-RNY revision, and I'm trying to plan way ahead. Thanks in advance. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

Revision to Bypass, RNY from any Surgey coming up.... anyone else?
Who'sThere replied to FDclerical's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I throw up more days than I don't. However, my EGD was good. We aren't really sure why I have so much trouble. My band was great until I gotpregnant. I had hyperemesis and had to have a complete unfil. Since then, I've not been able to tolerate much fill at all and I throw up regularly. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App -
BCBS and getting approved. How long does it take ?!
Who'sThere replied to flab2fab_in0117's topic in Insurance & Financing
I'm not sure if this will be helpful or not because I have BCBS TN, but mine took 8 days with 2 phone calls. They told me this is a very busy time of year. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App -

Revision to Bypass, RNY from any Surgey coming up.... anyone else?
Who'sThere replied to FDclerical's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Thank you! How long did you have your band? Did you have any tests before your revision to check it's condition? I'm hoping mine isn't too bad. I'm scared of having him open me up, remove the band, and then find that he has to wait for the bypass. I mean, if that happens, it happens, but it does make me anxious. I've had my band for 7.5 years. He did an EGD and said it looks ok, but who knows when he opens me up what it will look like on the outside of my stomach. I'd love to keep up with your progress. I'm scheduled for 12/15. How was your recovery compared to your band? Also, did you have a lot of pain where the port was removed? And where was your port? Mine is basically between my boobs and down about 2 inches. I don't see many with that placement. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App -
For basic foods that don't have nutrition information on the packaging, you can probably Google. Otherwise, the nutrition facts per serving should be listed on the packaging. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

She had surgery a month ahead of you, so three months ago if I'm reading correctly. And she says she's lost all the weight she wants/needs to lose? Wow! That seems crazy to me. Good for her, I guess. However, I am like almost everyone else who replied and feel she may be in for an unpleasant surprise in a few months. Keep up your good work and you will reap the rewards! Also, I will say, I have an IUD, but I've used the sponge before that when my guy didn't want to use a condom. It really wasn't bad at all. However, it is more expensive than condoms for regular use. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App -

Are revisions REALLY necessary?
Who'sThere replied to Babbs's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I agree to an extent. I didn't lose a lot to begin with (65lbs) but I lost enough that I considered my surgery a success. I certainly felt better and was healthier than before. I feel like I never did solidify great eating habits completely. I did well enough to keep the weight off for 3 years, but if my eating had been better, I would have likely lost more. Then, I got pregnant....and everything changed. My entire body feels foreign now, even my hair. I used to have very naturally curly hair, and now it's stick straight. I feel like that's an outward illustration of all the changes to my body. I had to have my band unfilled and never got correct restriction back. We had a very sick child for a while, and it was sooo easy to go back to my poor eating habits and I had no restriction to help me. I take 75% of the blame for my regain. I lay the other 25% on my endocrine system and a persnickety band that has me vomiting 3-4 days a week until late in the day. I am hoping this time to make my changes permanent. I can't afford to keep this weight on. I have a child I didn't have before and she is the best motivation I have to take care of my health and model good eating habits. I do feel I'll be successful because I have already, prerevision, made some very good changes to my habits. It's all different to me this time. How many of you had to go through the same criteria as an initial bariatric surgery patient??? My surgeon's office asserts that everyone has to go through the same 6 month process even though my insurance has told me differently--twice! (Even talked to the bariatric nurse in the precert department.) Now, they want me to call the insurance company and have them call the surgeon's office on 3way to tell them that. Does this seem odd to anyone else? I get why they would want me to do the long process. It is more money for them as I would have to see the surgeon more often and they would not change their routine. However, I would love to have this done before the end of the year to save lots of money!!! I think "everyone" has done it this way because no one else has done their own legwork and questioned their process. Oh, and it is the office staff that is giving me a hard time, not my surgeon. He says let's get this done. When I had my band, there was one woman who did this. She's gone and now there are 3 doing her job, and none too well, I might add.
