I am also preop, but I do have LapBand. My revision other rny is 12/15, so I'm right ahead of you. I can't answer all these but I'll weigh in on a few. #3. Sip, sip, sip. All that you can. My group preaches liquid first then Protein #4. No. Keep them off for a while. #5. My group says when you are off pain meds and feel like it. #8. If you are comfortable that way, go for it but watch your drains. You don't want those pulled out. My group recommends sleeping in a recliner or propped up on pillows. #9. I am very concerned that you are this close, and this hasn't been explained to you. I had to attend a nutrition class all about this, go to a support group meeting where this was discussed, was given a binder with all the details spelled out, and I have already had one nurse call going over it again to make sure I'm aware. Your surgeon and dietician may have a slightly different regime than mine, but basically, you will be on liquids (VERY small quantities over time) on day one then progress to full liquids, again, over time. Eventually purees, then mushy, then soft, and so on. It's way to much detail to respond to in a single comment. #10. Probably. Shock to your body from surgery. It will grow back, though. If you search, there was a recent post explaining some of the science behind it. Best of luck! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

Lap-band to Sleeve revision- 1surgery or 2
Who'sThere replied to hmm33502's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
My surgery is in 6 days, and it is planned as one surgery to remove the band and do RNY. The only way it will be two is of he gets in there and sees more scaring than he expects. (I had an egd, and all was well from the inside.) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App -
I have lost 100 pounds (and regained) in the past, and i didn't lose my boobs. When I lose weight, I actually usually go UP in the cups because the difference from band to bust is increased. However, I also don't really gain in my boobs. They are mostly breast tissue, not so much fat. On the other hand, my mother and sister are basically flat chested if they lose weight. They only have boobs when they are heavy. When you've been at a normal weight in the past, did you have large boobs? I think that is a big determining factor. Best of luck to you! A girl in my surgery group started at 446. She just had her 1 year anniversary about a month ago, and a couple of weeks ago (just past her 1 year mark) she was down to 223, exactly 1/2 of her previous weight. She's doing great, and you can too! My surgery is in 8 days. I started my preop liver shrink diet Monday, and I took before pics. I plan to also take them the day of surgery and every month thereafter in the same clothing. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

I would think you will have to pay your deductible. Your surgeon's office should be able to help you. Also, I found my insurance company very knowledgeable and helpful as well. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App -

This is actually on my surgery program dietician's list of recommeneded Protein replacements. I have both the powder and premixed in various flavors and I love it. I also drink Premier Protein ready to drink shakes because they have 30 grams vs 20. They don't taste as great, but they definitely aren't bad. Best of luck! My date is 12/15, and I started liquids today. It's almost here! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

Yes, call!!! I had to keep on my insurance too. I have BCBS, and it's a long story, but I had to fight my surgeon's office to even submit because they ladies in the office didn't believe I would be approved despite insurance giving me the policy requirements in writing and even calling them on 3 way. They lady at my surgeon's office thought I needed to meet initial patient requirements but I'm a revision patient. In the end, my surgeon TOLD his office manager to send it. I am a teacher and my insurance is changing in January. My main policy will be the same, but I'm losing a secondary coverage, so my out of pocket would've been really high versus none at all. Also, I am using Christmas break for recovery so I don't miss as much work. I totally understand the urgency and frustration you are going through! Remember that you are your own advocate and don't worry about pushing them. This is a service they provide and you and your employer pay for it. Get results! Best of luck and keep us posted! Prayers for you and your family. A teenager at my church a few years ago had a severe headache that lasted several days. She kept taking tylenol. Her family came to evening services without her, and when they returned home she was very ill. She had gotten worse and worse little by little and apparently the signs aren't there until it's too late or almost too late. She didn't make it. I don't say this to scare you more. (I'm so glad your sister in law went it. This girl didn't. I think her being tiny and so young didn't work in her favor.) My purpose is to reiterate how very serious this can be. People tend to think otc meds are safe not matter. They are still medication and people should take them as directed. Again, prayers for your SIL and your family! Idk about that. Lol. I have Hashimotos and my thyroid is all but shot. I'm expecting to be a slow looser. If I lose faster, I'll be pleased, but I'm ok with slow loss as long as it's loss. So, I take it you are self pay? That stinks. I'm thankful for my insurance. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

That's my date too! My preop diet starts 12/5. It's only 10 days, but it's also only full liquids, no food at all. I'm 38, but I'll be 39 on the 19th. I'm 5'3" and sitting around 268 today. I seem to stay between 265-270 for the past couple of months no matter what I do or don't do. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App
