How far out are you? I'm on day 11, and most of the time, sex is the LAST thing on my mind. I did have one day, though, where I was feeling pretty randy, but my body would NOT have cooperated. Before surgery, I wanted it all the time...like a teenage boy. Lol. I'm sure it will come back in time. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

I am not a doctor, but... (post-op diet progression)
Who'sThere replied to theantichick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@theantichick A girl in my surgery group uses the baby analogy. I think it's perfec (as is every word you wrote). We are relearning our eating habits in our brains and our bodies are relearning how to deal with food. Thanks for posting. If you help one person, it's worth it. Day 4 Post-Op - Is This Normal?
Who'sThere replied to SeattleSleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm a revision patient. When I had lapband, I was able to find a child's cup that was insulated and I took the "sippy" valve out so that I didn't have to suck to get a drink. It was perfect. Now, I have my own child so there are plenty of cups around. Anything that doesn't require you to make suction should be fine, but if the cup is spill proof, it's probably going to give us some gas. Gas x strips are great!!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App -
Day 4 Post-Op - Is This Normal?
Who'sThere replied to SeattleSleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Do you have to suck to drink from this cup? If so, that may be contributing to your gas pains. I tried to use mydaughter's cup which wasn't even a sippy, but it had a small top and it was a no go. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App -

Day 4 Post-Op - Is This Normal?
Who'sThere replied to SeattleSleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had rny on 12/15, and aside from a small amount of diarrhea on day 4 and the tiniest terd you've ever seen on day 5, I had my first real BM today. I never felt constipated and my surgical gas was gone by around day 5-6, but I was a little concerned about not going. Today was the day, though. Merry Christmas Eve to me, lol! If I hadn't gone today, I was going to try miralax. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App -
Anyone else have a tough recovery?
Who'sThere replied to chunkygirl679's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I am feeling a lot better in general now, but at the moment, I am beat. Today was a busy day for me which consisted of making my daughter lunch and doing dishes, then a trip to walmart with the hubs (He did push me in a wheelchair) Then wrapping gifts, church, to a friend's new house to see it, to mcdonalds to watch my child and husband eat, lol, and to my nephew's to deliver his gifts. Shew! I'm beat! As for getting off pain meds, I only took 9 pumps of morphine when I had my pump, and I could've pushed it 6 times an hour foe over 24 hours. Since then, I've taken two doses of children's liquid tylenol. (We didn't have adult, lol) I haven't needed pain meds because 1) my pain hasn't been really bad and 2) I feel like if I mask what pain I do have, I may over do something and not feel it. I think the discomfort I have is bearable, and I need it to tell me when to stop. My feeling out of sorts, I believe was from low BP and maybe blood sugar. Now that my body is getting used to its internal remodel, things have leveled off. I have more energy and mobility each day, and I'm feeling more like myself. I legit have my own version like this that I sang to my students before I left for surgery. They knew I was on liquids, and I joked about them being good, or I might eat one of them. This makes me laugh! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App So are you saying that you are a hot teacher???Not saying I'm hot, lol, but saying I'm a teacher who is super silly with her kids--totallySent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App I was a school bus driver for awhile and I can tell you that teachers who are silly and enjoy their students are always attractive and it has nothing to do with physical attributes. I've met many beautiful, ugly people and I've met even more who are homely but extremely beautiful.Well, thank you. I do love my kiddos, that's for sure. I think if you build a relationship with them, they are more willing to give you all they've got. I teach 2 consecutive grades at a very small, rural impoverished school. Those kids are MY kids, especially after 2 years. If we couldn't cut up and have fun, I'd be miserable. If that makes me attractive, I'll take it. ???? So, I posted these backwards. Sorry. When I go to type a reply, I hit the little circle with the upside down v. Then, I don't choose IMG, I click the paperclip. It takes me to the images on my phone, and I choose the one I want to add. I hope this helps. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App -

My RNY was 12/15. I didn't go below my surgery weight until 3 days ago. I gained at first due to swelling and Fluid I guess. The scales are finally moving. Don't fret too much. Do what you know is right, and it WILL work. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

I had my RNY 12/15. No way am I meeting my Protein goals yet, but I'm ok with that. My surgeon's group stresses liquid then protein! Dehydration is not your friend, so they would rather you drink drink drink at first then work on meeting protein goals. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App

How long for gas pains?

Enlarged Thyroid/ 6 days PO/little weight loss
Who'sThere replied to Gucci's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't have a goiter, but I have Hashimotos. It was my endocrinologist who recommended my surgery. He thinks this can help with my thyroid problems as well as other endocrine issues. He explains that without the surgery, it would be very difficult to lose weight and nearly impossible to maintain a loss. I'm surprised your doctor hasn't done thyroid checks on you before, but if you have issues, I'm glad he's catching them now. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App -
