kcorbin replied to luvinke's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor told me that I could drink wine (just in moderation) beer does have carbonation and it could stretch the pouch, but he said be aware of empty carolies, just exercise more on thursday!!! Have fun!!! -
Hi all. This is my first post on the july bandsters!!! I'm so glad I get to join you all. I will have my surgery on July 24 @ 9 am. I can not wait. All of my tests are done and even my pre-op apptmnt was yesterday. My BMI is 37.5 and I'm just ready to get this done to begin a new life. I have read almost all of the threads. This site is just wonderful. I have to do a 10 day pre-op w/ shakes and soups (protein) and can have a can of tuna a day. So it sounds like alot of your pre-op diet. I look forward to chatting w everyone and going through our new life together. Kelli from Florida

Hi Heidi! My name is Kelli. I'm from Florida and having the surgery on July 24. I'm so excited. I have been reading this site for a long time and it is so helpful. Good luck with your surgery and the pre-op diet. -

How much weight loss at first?
kcorbin replied to Pam in MI's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Pam I am in the same boat with a BMI of 38. I am self pay and I should get banded the end of July. I'm going to the nitritionist and pysh. dr tomorrow. I hope the weight steadily comes off. We don't want it to fall off because then we have saggy skin. Good luck to you. -
Would you do it again?

Audree, Did you have your surgery? I'm in kinda the same boat, but weigh 200 and I'm only 28 y/o. If you did are you glad you did it? Kelli -

I live in Jacksonville, Florida and last week went to a seminar (free one) w/ Dr. Paul Chappano at St. Vincent's Hospital. He sounded wonderful. I am planning on getting banded by him in July. He does except Aetna. I on the other hand have to private pay (insur. does not cover this). I'm not sure how far you live from here. I know somewhere in Ocala they do it too. Not sure who it is. Let me know if I can help anymore. -
I am 29 y/o and weigh 205. I have had issues with weightloss the past 5 yrs. and I am unsure if I should go through with this. I met with my doctor yesterday and I am a candidate (private pay). I'm just scared about the eating afterwards. Did anyone else go through this? Thanks, Kelli:eek:

Well, I've made another step towards getting the band. Going to my PCP May 23. I talked to the lapband Dr.'s office about scheduling it mid-end of July. I'm so excited. Thanks for everyone's responces, they continue to help me. Kelli

Evilah, That's kinda how I am feeling now. Whatever is necessary to lose weight is what I have to do. Thanks to everyone who has posted back to me, it all helps. Kelli

Michelle, Thanks so much for your responce. I need good encouragement like that. I'm getting excited to finally make that last step and tell myself OK let's do it. My husband is 100% behind me. That helps. This web site rocks!! I have learned more on it than anywhere. Kelli
