Has anyone else noticed that their band seems to get tighter around the time of their periods? I also notice it when it is humid out. Sometimes it tightens so much that I can only have liquids and this will last for a few days. I was just curious to see how many other women have experienced this and if they notice as much of a difference as I do during this time. By the way I am filled to 8.5cc out of a 10cc band. Thanks for your input! :mad2:

I am SO happy! I went to the doctor on Thursday for a deflate and he took out a 1/2 cc which left me at 8.5 cc in a 10cc band. I was nervouse because at first I wasnt sure this was going to be enough taken out because I was SO tight before at 9cc's. But I was actually able to eat some salad and a little bit of chicken- very small portions but enough to fill me up without getting sick or feeling that HORRENDOUS pain every time I ate after 1 bite!! I was so frustrated with my band before because I really thought that I was going to lose my weight by starving being that I could only eat soup- but now I know I am in that Green Zone and I am glad that I will be able to get my nutrients and enjoy solid foods (to a point- I refuse to eat bread!! ouch- pain!!) I am so motivated now!! First fill on May 3rd to 6.5 cc's 2nd fill June 5th to 9.5 cc's Deflate on June 12th to 9 cc's Deflate on July 18th to 8.5 cc's 31 pounds lost since May 3rd!! (100 more to go )

I totally understand what you are going through. My second fill I went from 6.5 to 9.5 in a 10cc band. I knew I couldnt continue that way so I deflated to 9.0- I have been that way for about a month but I am scheduled to go back in on Friday and deflate some more because I am MISERABLE. I am basically limited to soups and somethimes a very mashed baked potato- and this is basically in the evening. I skip breakfast now because I do not want to deal with the after effects. I have lost 20 pounds in that month but its not worth it to me. I am going to deflate to 8.0 ccs and see if this will allow me to be able to eat some solids without the horrible "after effects". It sounds like you may need a partial deflate- just a little to help you along. In the meantime I would opt for soups, creamy soups are my favorite, mashed potatoes or mashed baked potatoes, watery oatmeal, and of course there is always yogurt. Oh sometimes I can eat a little chilie at night. But definately talk to your doctor about deflating jut a tiny bit. We should be limited with what we eat but not completely restricted. Good Luck!

Okay- I posted before but only got one response- I really need some advice here people! I am filled at 9cc in a 10cc band, and I am REALLY struggling with eating. I was filled at 9.5cc but had .5 taken out thinking this would allow me to be able to eat decently with out getting sick afterwards. But I continue to get sick and slime and I have tried talkin with my dr about it but their advice was that I am eating too fast and too much, and they suggested I stay on liquids for as long as possible. I told them I did not get banded to stay on a liquid diet for the next year, my assumption going into this was that I would be abl to eat a small amount of food but feel fuller faster. I did not think I would be sick every day. So I took their advice, and still, even with eating only a 1/4th cup of food very slowly, with my diet consisting of mainly salad, eggs, Soup, and baked potatoes, I am still miserable. They dont seem to want me to get a deflate- but am I wrong in thinking that this needs to be my next move? Im thinking another cc would help majorly. From what I am reading most people on here seem to be filled under 6cc's although my first fill at 6.5 cc didnt quite cut it so I went up to 9.5 then to 9 which was probably way too much. Im thinking 8 will probably help me get to my sweet spot. Any thoughts? Oh by the way can anyone fill me in on what PB-ing is? FRUSTRATED!!!

Hi- I am experiencing the same situatuin, however you didnt mention how much you are filled at and in what size band. I am currently at 9cc's in a 10cc band. Had .5 taken out about 3 weeks ago and thought this would help but I am still REALLY struggling with most solids. I went to my DR and they said to wait it out but I am not happy with that answer, I am going to go back in and get another cc taken out because from what I am reading we shouldnt have to live in misery like this. My expecation going in was to be able to enjoy a small amount of food and to fill fuller faster. I did not expect to be having it come up afterwards everytime I eat. I am not sure what PB means but I am sure I am experiencing it because I am miserable. So my suggestion is yes you are filled to much like I am and yes you should consider going back in to have a little bit off a deflate. Good luck and I hope you will keep me posted on how things go. -
Hello-I just had my 3nd fill last week- I first had at 6.5 ccs and my weight loss tapered off so then I had aa fill of 9.5 for my 10cc band and found that I was unable to keep anything down- EVERYTHING was regurgiated up so I went and had it deflated to 9cc's and although I am not regurgitating everything up I am still find it difficult to eat alot of foods. I am so SICK of soups but I am having trouble finding foods that are okay. I know to stay away from breads and cheeses and pasta (learned the hard way!). Does anyone have suggestions of things I might be able to eat that wont come back up later? Oh and here is the kicker- although my eating has gone from not able to able to eat some I still am not really losing....what is going on with me??? BTW my surgery was in March and my first fill was May 3rd. Since May I have only lost about 15 lbs. Maybe my expectations are high- can anyone let me know how long until their weight loss really kicked off? :confused2:
