Had a glass of ice tea....
sirvine89 replied to 2cute!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i dont remember the exact reason. i do know that if you do drink it, you are supposed to drink extra water to flush it out. i think it has soemthing to do with your stomach and making you want food or pushing food dopwn so that you are hungry. hopefully it's that. but i am positive on drinking extra water. good luck! hope this helped -
thanks everyone! im so excited! good luck to everyone

ok-obviously you sound very upset and aware of what you have done so i am not going to lecture you. you should definitely tell the doctor EVERYTHING including the fast food secret. you just have to prepare your mind for it. its just that we are all so addicted to food. for some "inspiration" why dont you put a picture of your daughter on things in your home that remind you of eating or things that have food in them (fridge, cabinets pantry) and under her picture make a little note-whatever will inspire you like "i need to get healthier for her" "i need to set a good example for my daughter so she learns good eating habits" or "i need to be alive to see her walk down the aisle" something like that-whatever works for you... but your human yyou make mistakes and you're her mommy and she loves you no matter what-show her the same thing by getting healthier for her good luck! keep us updated! -

hey! dont be nervous. let me tell you a little about myself. my name is samantha im 19 yrs old and i live in nyc. i decided to get this surgery so young because my father weighed over 500 lbs and had the gastric bypass. hes lost 250. i know if i dont get it i will end up like him. im still waiting for my insurance. i looooooooveeeeee food! who doesnt? and if anyone says they dont (including skinny people) its a lie. ever hear the phrase "you have to eat to live, not live to eat" well its true. and yes you do have to sort out the head stuff first. but if you are really ready to do this-you will do it. go see a psycologist if you have not already. just talk about your fears and concerns and it may help you make your decision. and about the quantity of your food-your stomach will only be able to hold a certain amount of food-after that you'll throw up. not that that is a fix but you wont be able to eeat as much. but when you're ready-everyone's here for you and you'll be there for you! good luck

sirvine89 replied to Insky67's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hey maybe you're just so nervous and stressed that maybe you "caused" the pain. i mean maybe it was just a little soar and u got nervous and thought it was more pain? i dont know. maybe even though your band isnt filled it still a lot of restriction. tey counting your chewing. (35 chews) if it doesnt get better i would say go on licquids and if that doesnt help-go to the hospital! -
im getting nervous. i have no idea if the hospital has sent in my clearences to the insurance company. they're being very vague. they keep saying "well it looks like everything is in order. now you just have to wait for someone to call you with insurance approval" does that mean everything is order and you are about to send it in? OR did you send it in and you're waiting for approval? and how long does approval take anyway? also..no offense to anyone!! but i havent been able to find anyone to talk to who is my age getting the surgery (im 19) what if when i get the surgery there is no restriction and im eating more than im suppossed to and i wont even know it? sorry about venting..i just dont have anyone to talk to about this

And so it begins...

you'll be fine! i wish i was in your position getting the surgery in two days!!! and you are doing the right thing by your son. my dad had the gastric done and lost 250lbs. he did have some problems after surgery but he's perfectly healthy and your son will benefit. good luck!! -
hey actually you do. you have to be 100 pounds over weight normally-but if you have a BMI of 35 or higher (which you might have since you're 70lbs over weight) you def. qualify. especially since you have diabetes. ask your doctor! im so excited about my upcoming surgery. its life changing.

sirvine89 replied to Nelis's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hey well ive been doing the process since november and im finally done and waiting for insurance. however, i did have a few complications with the doctors. most people ive spoken to it takes them about 3-4 months. its because i live in nyc and all the specialists are always busy and u have to wait a while for an appointment. good luck!
