  1. anyone know of a kosher protein powder? For those of you not Jewish, look on the bottle for a symbol of a u surrounded by a circle, or a k surrounded by a circle. This means that these products are certified as kosher by an agency. I am looking for one that is NOT primarily soy based, but am out of luck so far. Any advice? Rdk211

    1 week Post Op

Thanks to all those who replied. :smile:YOu are all so reassuring. I'm tipping closer and closer to the "not chickening out" side of my mind right now. (But I'm still scared...terrified...not sleeping well at night...wish it was over) My next question is Do you have a shopping list of stuff it would be worthwhile to buy and have in stock BEFORE the surgery? so far, my list includes: Blender and hand blender, sippy water bottle (the no straw squeeze kind), protein powder (but I don't know what brand yet), chewable vitamin, chewable immodium, gasX strips, liquid tylenol, canned clear broth, sugar free jello, sugar free popsicles, protein bullets (not sure what these are but will check out on GNC.com) heating pad. Oh, and have my dh bring up our recliner from the basement to my bedroom. Any other suggestions? rdk211

    1 week Post Op

Thanks to those of you who reassured me that 7 calendar days is fine. My next question is - how swollen will I be one week post op? Right now, my largest clothes (sz 22) are fitting but on the tight side. Would it make sense for me to buy one or 2 size 24 blouses so that I can have something to wear to work till the swelling goes down, or is it pretty down by one week post-op? Also, how soon after surgery were all of you able to tolerate caffeine again? I can't get through the day at work (or my one hour commute home) without a cup of coffee at some point. (not an addict, just like my daily cup of joe). I'm a bit concerned about that as well. rdk211:confused:

    I have a problem

Hi, June Bandsters I'm scheduled for my surgery on July 1. I have to go back to work on July 8th. What can I expect? Clearly, fatigue - but what about swelling? Will I need extra roomy clothes for that first week back at work? Also, anyone think I need more time?

    1 week Post Op

Hi, All Question for you newer lap band people. I am scheduled for my surgery on July 1 (YES, I am terrified of the knife, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do). I was only able to arrange for 5 days off from work, which means I am scheduled to go back to work on July 8. Is this realistic? Does anyone remember how they felt 7 days post-op? My job is a desk job but there is some walking around - no steps, though. Any advice? Should I fight for more days off, or save them for just in case scenarios? Thanks! rdk211
