February 2021 Sleeve Surgery
mweiss1998 replied to LifelongJourney's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I didn't have to do any pre-op diet. I got home yesterday and my headache has finally subsided. My incision definitely hurts but it may be because they found a hernia and repaired that while they were in there. Good luck with your surgery!! -
My pain is by my incisions. It is really tight so getting up and down is painful and rolling over in my sleep was really hard. I still have the gas but it seems to be relieving itself. My kids are mortified. LOL

Congrats! Mine was done on Monday. I am feeling some pretty good pain when I try to move. The water has been no issue at this point because I feel absolutely parched. I wish I could chug the water. Glad to have this board for support with so many having surgery around the same time.

Just got home from my sleeve surgery. I was in the operating room at 7:30 am yesterday. Turns out I also had a small hiatal hernia so they repaired that while they were in there. The pain in my chest from the gas when I woke up in recovery was excruciating. Most of my stay wasn't too bad but I definitely didn't move much. Getting dressed and getting in the car were quite painful. I am home now and took a pain pill so I am feeling a bit better. All the nurses at Hackensack Medical Center in NJ were amazing! I am a bit congested (I think from the anesthesia) and it really hurts to try and cough. I'll check back in a few days and let you know how it is going.

What Should I Pack For VSG Surgery?
mweiss1998 replied to AstoldbyLindsey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just got back from the hospital and of all the stuff I packed (which really wasn't that much) I only used these: blistex, hand lotion, deodorant, underwear and phone charger I wore home the same clothes I wore there. It was a hassle to get up for the bathroom dragging the IV pole and all so I never washed my face or brushed my teeth. I have now that I am home. I slept on and off for most of surgery day. Today I was up more. -

I am supposed to be under the knife in 12 hours and we are having a huge snowstorm. I am scared they are going to call and cancel on me. -

WOW! I had no idea. I would use those all the time when necessary. -

Also, I don't think anything chewable is a good idea. You might be better off with the dissolving strips if anything. -

Insurance approval
mweiss1998 replied to Amanda Purser's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your surgeon's office may need to push the insurance to get the approval. I am scheduled for Monday and just got the approval today. The doctors office had to call and ask that it be expedited so the surgery date wouldn't have to be moved. -
February 2021 Sleeve Surgery

Ready as I'm going to be I guess. I had no pre-surgery diet to do. No colon cleanse. Been trying to be good this week while also eating all my favorites that I may miss in the near future. I know the thing I will miss most is my wine. The thing I won't miss most is hating my reflection when I look in the mirror. I started packing my bag but it's only 1 night (god willing) so I shouldn't need much. -

I finally got the call around 3:10 pm today that my insurance has approved my surgery and I am going in on Monday. I have to be there at 5:30 am. I am excited and terrified at the same time. My hubby is just dropping me off since there is a no visitor policy in place. No point in missing a days work. -
What does everyone use to track their food and fluid intake? I am scheduled for 3 days from now and haven't found anything for tracking yet.
