Hey everyone! I am just over 6 weeks post-op and I read about stalls on here all the time. However, I have not yet stalled. I know, stalls are inevitable and eventually I will experience one, but are there others out there who haven't stalled early on? I hear so many patients stall around week 3 and I'm curious why I haven't stalled yet. I have been losing about 2 pounds a week since surgery - and I am definitely not complaining, just curious! ☺️

Hello! I thought I’d drop in and share a waffle recipe that I really like. 1/4 cup oats (I use quick oats, but rolled work as well) 1/4 cup vanilla Greek yogurt 1/2 small banana 1 large egg 1 scoop vanilla protein powder 1/4 tsp baking powder splash of vanilla blend all the ingredients together until smooth, then you can make it in a waffle iron or make pancakes with it. This does make about 3 waffles, so you can scale down the recipe or save some for later ☺️ You can also omit the yogurt, I’ve made it without the yogurt plenty of times. You can also substitute the banana with applesauce or pumpkin purée.

I was craving pizza and had some necessary ingredients in the kitchen. This is by no means “healthy” but it did satisfy the craving with much fewer calories. 1 low carb tortilla, 3 tbsp pizza sauce, a handful of shredded mozzarella (I like the tumaros tortillas)

Where did you find these? I’ve had the mission carb balance ones, but they’re too big and I can’t eat the whole wrap.

Glad I could help 😅

Reached my target weight today [emoji3][emoji3]

You are absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations! -
If you’re worried about weighing enough to qualify, wear a pair of ankle weights. I wore a 5 lb pair to my initial consultation because I was barely at a 40 BMI and wanted to make sure my insurance would cover it.

Nauseous, wanting to vomit, can’t eat
Jnfinney replied to ninaslimsdown's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would contact your team. I couldn’t handle the sweet shakes after surgery, so for the first 2 weeks my dietician gave me the okay to focus on staying hydrated. There are also protein waters available like protein2o and Gatorade makes one now. -
Alcoholic Drinks

I didn’t think of that…. Sounds really good and refreshing!!! -
Alcoholic Drinks

I see people mix vodka or their other favorite alcohol with crystal light. Before surgery, I used to mix vodka with lemonade crystal light… a sugar free vodka lemonade! -
Hi all. I am almost 4 months post op, have been struggling with cravings, and ate some stuff I shouldn’t have over the 4th of July. Yesterday I was logging my food into my Baritastic app and this quote popped up… it really hit me and has been really motivational for me to stay strong and keep making good choices. I just thought I’d share it with you all.

I’m almost 4 months post op. I did weight lifting and cardio at home prior to surgery. A month ago I decided to join a CrossFit gym. I’m the month that I’ve been doing CrossFit, I’ve become noticeably faster (took over 2 minutes off my fastest mile time) and have been able to physically see some muscle definition. I’ve also been able to lift heavier than I did before surgery. Overall, I’d say it did take me some time to get back into the swing of things but I’ve definitely had some positive changes with my strength, endurance, and mental health.

5 weeks post-op slow weight loss
Jnfinney replied to fitgal2021's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It will get better. I stalled for about 3 weeks and then lost 3 pounds in a week. Just keep working hard and you’ll get the results. -
I almost gave in to the arches….
Jnfinney replied to ShoppGirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You’re not alone. If I go grocery shopping or pretty much any store/gas station if I haven’t eaten in a while, EVERYTHING looks good. I have to tell myself “eat something good before you eat something bad.” I’ve found it’s a good idea to carry around water or a healthy snack for when I’m feeling this way. -
Yes, the rainbow candy one is really good.

FitOn is a great app that offers some free workouts. They also have a subscription which was $20 for a whole year when I paid for it. I have since switched to a CrossFit gym to challenge myself further, but I really liked FitOn when I was working out at home.

When does it get better!?
Jnfinney replied to SweetCatastrophy's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had the sleeve, so our surgeries are a little different. However, I started feeling significantly better around 7 days post op. I only needed Tylenol for discomfort. I also struggled with fluids the first couple weeks; my nutritionist suggested I just focus on staying hydrated versus focusing on protein until I started feeling better. I promise, it gets better. If you aren’t feeling a little better in the next 2-3 days, I would contact your clinic. -
Anybody not working out??
Jnfinney replied to adventuremomof4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Prior to surgery I exercised regularly, but had an unhealthy mindset about it. I exercised because I was fat and needed to burn more calories… almost like punishing my body. I would do ridiculous amounts of cardio. Now I am 3 months post op and I recently joined a CrossFit gym…. And I fell in LOVE. I love seeing what my body can do and pushing my limits to get stronger and better. I don’t get bored and look forward to going. I think it depends on each individual and figuring out what works for YOU. -
Makes complete sense - and these issues are the exact reason I’m glad they required us to work with a dietician!

Congrats on your weight loss! I am only 3 months post op, so I cannot comment directly on your experience, however, I’ve always been a big snacker so I thought I’d share the information my dietician discussed with me. She told me some people have an easier time eating 5-6 small “meals” throughout the day versus 3 regular meals. She told me it’s okay if I eat a snack or two - as long as it is protein focused or a vegetable. So things like cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, cheese sticks, etc are good snack options. The other thing I’m curious about is if you are counting your calories or logging your intake in some way? That has always helped me to see what I’ve eaten and make sure I stay within my calorie limit. Anyway, I hope you can get some answers. Keep us posted ☺️

I use either Dymatize ISO 100 or Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard.

I currently work out 5-6 days a week and I do cardio as well as strength training. I will do a 30-45 minute jog and 30-45 minutes of strength training with weights. One of my biggest goals for myself when I started this journey was to get a more “fit” look and be able to see my toned muscles. I do not want to be a bodybuilder or completely ripped by any means, just toned. Has anyone else out there achieved this? If so, how did you do it? What exercises did you find toned your muscles the most? How long did it take? sorry for all the questions!

Hi everyone! I was watching a YouTuber who had VSG before I had my surgery. Her channel is My Level 10 Life if you’d like to check it out - she has a lot of great information on the surgery and life after. Anyway, she had recommended souper cubes, so I invested in some and I love them. You can bake in them or freeze things in them, and they are portion controlled. However, they are a bit pricey. So, yesterday I was at a Marshall’s and came across some silicone ice cube trays with a lid for $3.99. They are the perfect portion for me right now and are a great alternative to souper cubes if you don’t want to dish out $30+. The only thing with these ones is that I can’t bake in them, but oh well.

TOM/TMI Question For The Ladies
Jnfinney replied to SummerTimeGirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I do not have experience with this specifically. However, a friend of mine had surgery to remove some kidney stones several years ago and she had a tampon in when she went into surgery, but they took it out while she was in surgery. I would just ask when you get there when they prep you for your surgery - they'll know more than I do. Good luck ☺️ -
Pizza at 7 or 8 weeks?
Jnfinney replied to lostmykeysinspace's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ate cauliflower crust pizza at 8 weeks. Only 1 slice lol but it was yummy.
