Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
EnglishRose replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi I felt like that too but believe me it soon comes round and you will be banded before you know it. One lady who didnt do the pre-op diet has lost 17lbs since 13th August. The guy has lost 5kg (not sure what that is in pounds). Im not sure what the other lady has lost as I need to phone her. EnglishRose -

Hi Flirtylass Some doctors dont even require a pre-op diet but I know Dr Chris likes his patients to be on a low fat diet before the op. I too was very nervous before the op. I was in a right mood and very snappy before I went. I kept thinking of reasons why he wouldnt band me but I was worrying for nothing, I think its natural. I met 2 ladies who I shared a room with at the hospital and a guy at the hotel and we are E-mailing each other daily with updates on how we are getting on. You will be surprised how many people at the hotel will be going to the hospital, having their last supper in the restaurant the night before. You will feel like shit after the op but 24 hours later you will be surprised at how much better you feel. EnglishRose -

Hi Flirtylass I kind of did a 10 day pre-op diet. I lost 7lb. I had slimfast for breakfast, fresh fish with vegetables for dinner or Chichen stirfry. I just ate everything which was really low in fat. I was the only one in my room at the hospital that had done a pre-op diet. In fact the lady I shared the room with was eating Indian takeaway practically all week and Dr Chris still did their ops. I think having a smaller liver makes the operation easier for them. I didnt do a liquid diet prior to the op because I figured I would be totally sick of it having to be on liquids for 1-2 weeks after the op. I had scrambled egg for dinner tonight and I feel as if I have had a large meal. God I love this band! Best of luck, come on you can do it! EnglishRose -

Hi Dr Chris told me I could keep my knickers on during the operation. You will obviously have your top half bare. EnglishRose -

Hi Elli Well done on losing 5 stone, thats brilliant. Have you got much more to lose? The reason I ask is, if you are at your ideal weight its always harder to shift those last few pounds. Im only recently banded so cant answer whether you need a fill or unfill but I hope the scales start moving in the right direction soon. Chin up EnglishRose -

Hi Flirtylass God I love this band. I have now lost 16 pounds (7 pre-op 9 since banded). I dont feel hungry at all. Im buying some vitamins today too. Im a bit worried about losing my hair too. Good luck for losing 2 stone for the wedding, Im sure you will do it no problem. Once I have lost another stone Im going to start swimming, once the kids have gone back to school then the pool wont me packed. -

Hi Flirtylass Dont worry its not a back street butcher surgery. The hospital is large and is very clean. They give you disolveable pain med and anti sickness tablets that melt on your tongue. I did try and take 1 pain tablet at the hotel but the taste made me gag so I havent taken any more since. You can crush some paracetamol and take it that way. I think I will do that in future. Your room at the hospital has an en-suit room which consisted of 1 toilet and 3 sinks (one for each patient). Everyone had a wash the day after surgery but you are allowed to shower when you get back to the hotel as the dressings your wearing over your stitches are waterproof. They give you some anticeptic liquid to wash your woulds with but they do not supply any more waterproof plasters so you will need to buy some of those for when you get home. EnglishRose -

Hi Mooster No I havent booked a fill yet. I think I will wait a week or so before booking it. If I go on the 18th September I would only have been banded for just over 4 weeks so not sure if I will wait until the October date but it will all depends on how hungry I get once I have healed completely. Hi Kath Yes your right Dr DeBruyne wasn't bad either. I could get my fills in the hospital just down the road from me cheaper than going to Wimpole Street but it will be worth paying the extra just to see them both again. lol EnglishRose -

Hi Mooster Thanks for your lovely message. I too think its the best thing I have ever done. I wish I had done it years ago. Is is just me who thinks this or is Frederick absolutely gorgeous. I nearly said you have seen me practually naked, how about returning the favour but thought better of it lol. I havent felt hungry since being banded. I know its only been 5 days but I love this band already. Take care EnglishRose -

Hi Flirtylass Yes you do share a room at the hospital which I was a bit worried about as I snore rather loudly lol but the two women I shared with snored too so it was okay. Dont worry about sharing a room you will be with another English female and its always good to compare notes on how you are feeling. We had a giggle actually and was told to be quiet by the nurses. Dont worry about asking questions. Feel free to ask anything you want. EnglishRose x -

Hi Flirtylass I got to the hospital at 7:00am. Booked in and was taken to my room. I was told to put on the gown and socks (yes they are big, I was worried about that too lol). I had an ECG and blood test straight away which were fine. I was second in line for the op so didnt have to wait too long but it depends on how many ops he has booked for that day as one lady had her band fitted about 5-6 hours after me. EnglishRose x -

Hi Flirtyass I have just returned from Belgium having being banded on the 13th August. For my pre-op diet I stuck to everthing low fat. I had lots of fresh fish and vegetables for dinner and slim fast for breakfast or lunch. I took a night dress to the hospital but I didnt wear it and stayed in the hospital gown. It would have been too much like hard work to change. Just take enough tops or trousers etc to wear during the day. Good luck for the 19th! English Rose -

Hi Jackruss I too was worried that I would be refused surgery I think its natural to think the worse. I shared a room in Belgium with 2 ladies who were in their 50's and had more weight to lose than you so try not to worry too much. I got myself in a right state before I left, im a bit of a worrier, but it was all for nothing as everything went really well. Try and stay positive, I know its easier said than done but Im sure you will be fine. Take care EnglishRose -

Hi Mrs J.J Thanks for your message. As for this package that Dr Chris and Frederick offer. They DO offer a package for 4000 Euros which includes hotel and taxis if you go through them direct and not through one of their UK agents. Unfortunately I had contacted Bridget (their agent in the UK) so she needed to be paid her commission for booking me up, so I was unable to book the 4000 Euros package. I am now 4 days post op and feel really good. I have lost 14lb so far, 7lb on my pre op diet and 7lb since being banded. I feel really good, just a bit sore. Its amazing I havent felt hungry since having the op and have to force myself to have a slim fast. I never thought I would hear myself say that after being a compulsive eater for years. Take care EnglishRose -

Hi Bubble I have also just returned from Belgium having being banded by Dr Chris on the 13th August. He is a lovely man and he certainly put me at ease. I havent taken any painkillers since leaving the hospital but I must admit my incisions are really sore today. Feel free to ask any questions. EnglishRose -

Hi Kath Thanks for your message. God I feel so nervous now. I just want it all to be over and back in my own bed. I have a few questions. Can you remember how much it cost for a taxi from the hotel to the hospital or the hotel to Dr Chris consulting clinic. Did you have to have a cathiter (not sure it thats spelt correctly). Did you take any soup or slimfast etc to the hospital. Is there a restaurant at the hospital for visitors to have something to eat. I hope you recover very soon! Best of luck to a happier, slimmer lifestyle. Take care EnglishRose -

Hi This is the exact information that Dr Chris E-mailed to me.... The Financial forfeit will be 3950 + the package for ECFS this is probably 600Euro. You have to pay 400 Euro in advance to the account of ECFS and 395oEuro to me the day before surgery at my home consultation. ECFS will collect the remaining 200 Euro at the hotel with you.
