August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far

Hi all, I'm still sore near my port site. Otherwise i'm doing great. Very happy. I had surgery on the 9th, as of the 23 I lost 11 lbs. My scale is not working so i'm not sure how much more I have lost.
  3. I was also happy to be in the hospital overnight. The car ride home was painful, luckily I stayed at my sisters for 2 nights. she is only 15 minutes from the hospital. Make sure to bring a throw pillow to hold to your stomach for the ride home.
  4. Hehe !! I usually never even eat crackers. I figured, since I bought fat free, it would'nt be to bad. I have a half pack staring me down right now....man I would love a cracker. I'm not hungry, it's just head hunger. cravings. I will be done my 1st full liquid week on thur. then one more to go. I am really looking forward to the soft food. Nana hope all goes well today. That would have driven me nuts having the surgery put off twice.
  5. mariposa, Hi, I was very nervous. The surgery went very smoothly. I am excited to be banded...i'm on my way !! I have no regrets. I figured if I went on at the weight I was at, I would start having complications from being overweight. I was told to do a full liquid diet the week before, the night before and 2 days after were Clear Liquids. Now I am on full liquid again for 2 weeks. I am just starting to get hungry now. I cheated a little the week before, but only on things I could already have. The first 3 days we were allowed 15 crackers, 1 cup of veggies, and 1 cup of fruit. I had like a sleeve of crackers each day, the other 3 days I snuck in some crackers. I did not tell, and they did not ask. They only made sure I did the clear liquids the night before. good luck to you !!
  6. Hi, I would love to join the crazy ates....What a great name !! I was banded on August 9, Dr Geiss, Starting weight is 328. Surgery went well, but I had alot of pain, still have. Gets better everyday. I have not had much gas pain, but some.
  7. Hi I was banded on the 9th. I am not hungry. I lost 7 lbs since surgery. I had gained 9 lbs from the surgery : ( I had a lot of pain, and it is still bad, but better then yesterday. How many incisions are there suppose to be, I had 6. I felt like maybe they could get it from one angle so they had to go somewhere else. I have 2 up by my breast, and was thinking thats kind of high up. I am very happy I got this done, no regrets. Patti

    6 Freaking Months!??!

Yes, It was horrible. It would not have felt as bad if I did not already have the date. I was walking on air when I got the date, I told everyone. I think the diet surgeons office should have known about this before hand.

    6 Freaking Months!??!

Same thing is happening with me. I started my journey in May 06. Once I got all of my tests in, they called me within a couple of days with a surgery date of 2-12-07. Then called a few days later to let me know the Insurance wants the 6 months supervised diet. They should have told me awhile back, so that I could have been done. Oh well, i'm over it. Went to the Doc today to start the diet. they will start it with my last visit at the beginning of Jan. I usually see a nurse practioner, I hope the insurance has no problem with that. :phanvan Patti

    February 2007 bandsters!

Hi all, I have just gotten back to the board recently, I love reading all the posts. A week ago my doctors office called and said my surgery date would be on 2-12-07, I was on top of the world. Now she calls me today, and said the insurance company wants the 6 month supervised diet. I never did that. I have been balling my eyes out all day, My poor husband is so upset. You think someone would have told me months ago. I will start the 6 month supervised diet, but i'm afraid I will have to start all the tests again, since I've been doing them since May. I'm sure the Insurance company won't pay for the tests again. Thanks for listening. :cry Patti
