  1. Soy taste better! I can't handle the whey. I know this sounds so vein but here goes- MY HAIR... It took me a few years to grow it out and even though I'm forty I have this whole fantasy of having long hair and being thin! My hair has never been this long and I know if I can't keep the protein down my hair is not going to be healthy, possibly fall out and I will have to cut it. Slim fast low carb has 20grams of protein and I can get that down. Any suggestions?
  2. Adamsmom, so soup already! Good for you. I think I'm doing a little better today. I did venture out to the bank and the store. But, I was ready to get out of the store a few minutes after I got there. I keep telling myself it has only been 3 days. I'm trying not to beat myself up. I just want to feel normal again. As far as incisions go- my Doctor told me he did something new with me and he thought I would be pleased. He said he hid them well. I only have 3. They are very small. Two on either side and one in/near my navel. I know they will hardly be noticeable but I can't help but wonder if the reason for all the pain is that maybe he just tried to do to much through those 3 tiny holes. Who knows? I'm swallowing my small pills whole, my big pills I am still breaking in half for fear of them getting stuck. anyway, thanks all for your support.
  3. I envy you! I wish I felt well enough to get out.
  4. Hi All, My surgery did not seem to go as well as everyone else. Right afterhad this unbrarable pain between my shoulders.-This was the worst pain I have ever felt. It was so bad that my Doc was called back. He said it was the band rubbing against my diaphram. (sp) He got me up and walked me some and THANK GOD the pain did subside within about an hour. Today, I'm really dragging. Stil sore. I only have 3 incisions. I have no idea where my port is. One of my incisions is in my belly button, well a little off to the left. I'm making some tea now. Maybe sipping that will make me feel a little better. Maybe I just need a little caffeine. Post more Later
  5. I feel like I can finally breathe... Yesterday I took my oldest son (14) to school, I home school my youngest. (13) Went for (fasting) blood work, to my pre-op clearance with my primary, picked up my son, to the hospital for my ekg, and chest x-ray and to a mandatory seminar from 7 - 9 pm. YES, I did it! Why, did I wait to the last minute? Actually, I did not. I started this process 7 months ago and was 2 weeks before surgery when my insurance company denied me. So, when on December 24, I got approved and the Doctor's office said we can either do you the middle of February or January 13. Let's just say if there were hoops to be jumped. I was willing to jump them! Abd I know deep down inside that it will all be worth it. I know how to lose weight. I did it before and kept it off for years. I gained it all back in the last 3 years. I guess I got too happy-I married the man of my dreams 3 years ago or too stressed- I have a special needs child. I have been so depressed since gaining the weight. I felt like I couldn't lose the weight on my own. I am so thankful that this did come through because it has given me so much HOPE. Thank You all for your support in these last few days. "Perfect"
  6. I'm confused! Why liquid Tylenol? My doctor said I would be able to swallow a pill. Does anyone have a printable shopping list?
  7. Hi All, Thanks so much for replying so quickly. Although my family is being supportive I don't think anyone understands unless they are going through the same thing. I have a pre-op appointment with my surgeon today at 2:00. So, I have to run for now but I will check in later and tell everyone more about myself!! Thanks for your Support! YEAH! January ROCKS!
  8. ME! Me! The 13th is my date. I'm excited. I'm nervous... Someone tell me, how important is the pre-op diet? I'm on one but others aren't.

    Terrified of my PreOp Diet

7 months ago, right before I started the pre-op diet my Doc's office called and said my insurance had denied me. I was so crushed. To make a long story short. I just found out today I was approved, and surgery is scheduled in two weeks. JANUARY 13. I start pre-op diet today. SHAKES. I'm a wreck! I feel like I forgot everything the nutrionist told me. I'm excited but at the same time a little scared...

    Who's Getting Banded in July?

YES, yes JULY 15 is when I get banded. I start OPTIFAST in about a week the 29th. This part is making me nervous. BUT I WILL DO WHATEVER I have to do. It's been a long emotional haul for me. I have CIGNA Insurance and I have been so worried that after all these tests and everything else I've been through that they may deny me on some minor something... My doctor, nutrionist have told me not to worry about it that I'm covered but I don't think I could handle the disappointment.
  12. I too am excited about my surgery. But, I'm a bit confused- I'm getting the REALIZE band it's done out patient, my surgeon says the scars are minimal. As I read it seems to me that some of your surgeries have been more complicated???
