Has anyone had an experience with the flu after being banded? I have come down the flu and find it extremely hard to throw up. Which is a good thing to some. BUt when you stomach hurts this bad sometimes vomiting helps. I feel like i violently try to throw up and might slip my band. Has this ever happened? I am two months post op. Everything should be healed by now right?

PCOS (Poly Cycstic Ovarian Disease)
bandtastic replied to bandtastic's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank you for the responses. I hope more and more people respond too. I am really hoping once the weight starts coming off that the hair growth will too. I have to shave every day and it is the most embarassing thing in the world being a female and having so much hair growth. :-( Let alone the 150 extra pounds I carry. :-) OH MY OH MY.... -
WHATS A WAIST LINE???? hehehehe Congrats!

http://www.unjury.com/ This is strictly for surgery patients. It tastes GREAT also. Well atleast the chocolate one and the unflavored one is not so bad in Crystal Light. I am very picky when it comes to drinking. Usually the slightest thing will make me gag even before surgery my whole life actually. I can't do any kind of SHOTs.... but this protien drink is pricey but very good!

Anyone Gain Weight Before Surgery?
bandtastic replied to NeenBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I did the same thing.... I quit smoking so I blamed it on that. But being over weight you flucuate so much. I think you should definetly sweat it out drink alot of protein and just WORK it OUT. I don't think they weight you on the day of surgery. I was told they want you to loose weight before your surgery because, the first place you start to loose weight is your liver. Which is behind your stomach. So if your liver is SHRUNK the surgery goes better. BUT again maybe your doctor is just trying to make things easier on himself. Don't worry about it. You don't need that stress in your life right now. KEEP YOUR CHIN UP... you will only have to worry about loosing weight after this one... not putting on. :-) -
Has anyone lost weight but not pant sizes?

HELP HELP HELP!!!! Feeling like I'm choking
bandtastic replied to Jersey Jesse's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
that feeling is normal.... From reading what other people have written on here it sounds like you are swalloen. I don't think you will need a fill for awhile. You seem to have enough restriction with out a fill at all. I would just take it easy with foods for a while. Just purred or liquids. What I have noticed that I can eat ok is spaghetti sauce with meat. WIth out the noodles of course. You might want to just try something that is already ground up for you and take very very very small bites. Focus on the bite size and amount of time you chew. Sounds like you are doing well loosing weight. :-) Good luck! -
OK... i am kinda new to the band thing... First Fill was 2/22/06. I am still trying to figure out what i can eat and not eat. It is a lil frustrating right now. But I am loosing weight. I feel like Dinner is a sore subject for me. I seem to get sick alot. I don't want to stretch my stomach or slip my band or do anything harmful. BUt I feel like I need to eat and I am SOOOOOOOO hungry. ANyway after I eat sometimes I get "slime" and then the Hicups... does anyone else have hicups every day? Seems strange to me! thanks for your responses in advanced...
-
Well I know hicups have to do with your diaphram (sp) which is directly under your stomach. When I was post op i had a little discomfort when i had a shortness of breath but it went away when i healed. But it was because I was swallon and my diaphram was being affected by that. Hicups are not the end of the world but they are annoying for sure. :-)

I am new to "bandland" I have been reading alot of posts, and just want to say thanks to everyone who does post. You have helped me through alot so far. I was banded on Jan 13, 2006 and I am down 25 lbs. What a lifestyle change for me. Change for the better of course. BUT... My question here is.... What are people doing for there exercise rountine. What are some examples of time spent in the gym. How often do you up your exercise. How hard are you pushing yourselves at the gym? I was just curious to see what has been working and what hasn't been working. I have been going to the gym 5 nights a week... doing 20 mins or cardio and then weight training either arms or legs switching off each night. Keep up the great postings and happy journey! :clap2:
