  5. Sirloin Steak 4oz (ate 1oz) Loaded Bacon Potatoes 1.5 oz + 1tbsp Sour Cream (ate .5oz of potatoes and most of the sour cream) Black Truffle, Parm Green Beans 2oz (ate 1oz) Everything tasted amazing, but I was shocked at how crazy filling beef was.
  6. 100g chicken, 1 oz pickles, 1 oz grapes, 2oz Greek yogurt to dip the chicken into. Leftover, 1oz of the dip.

    OOTD

    That looks amazing on you!
  8. Dumping syndrome is the best guess. Stuck on the toilet and dry heaving for hours on end before calling the ambulance because of it, dizziness and chest pain. Took them 3 rounds of injected anti-nausea meds and 2 rounds of morphine to get the pain under control. If I never have to deal with that again, it will be too soon.
  9. Lol! I have definitely done that a few times since surgery. Even worse is complaining to my husband that I feel awful, getting him to rub my back and then letting out a massive fart at him. Poor guy 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️
  10. Just found this thread. Nice to see so many December's. I had my surgery on the 17th. Can't get started on my soft solids though, ended up in ER the first time I tried. Nothing else has sat well since. Hope everyone else is doing well
  11. I can't do shakes either. They make me sick so my dietician and nurse told me yesterday that I can quit them. I am only week 3 so I was shocked. However, they told me I needed to drink 500mL Fairlife high protein milk daily instead. Have you spoken to your NUT about it? If you can stomach the milk, I would definitely up that to help fluids too. It's hard!! But my dietician said if I am getting minimum 1.5L of fluids a day, that is a great start and just keep trying to outdo my previous day by a bit every day. Also, I can not get in my fluids if there isn't ice in it. Have you tried different temperatures? Room temp, ice cold, heated up (herbal or decaf tea). I never could handle ice prior to surgery, so it is weird but things change.
  12. Are you still having shakes or drinking high protein milk? Those liquids count towards your fluid intake as well. I was also told that SF jello counted towards fluid intake because it turns to fluid in your stomach. Total fluids, what are you hitting?
  13. How are all my December surgery people doing?

    Stomach bloated

I am only just over two weeks out but I bloat over everything it seems. SF jello and water no. But a bit of juice, protein shakes, dairy, they all cause bloating. Fun times. I was like that prior to surgery too, but not as bad.
  15. So glad it works for you! I had an allergic reaction to trying that brand sadly. 😥
  16. Just wondering how long people where still having to take protein shakes after starting the soft food diet? I have had a brutal time finding a protein powder or drink that isn't too sweet or doesn't make me nauseous. I had a super hard time with protein shakes before surgery too but it has become way worse. Hoping to be able to hit my protein goals with real food sooner vs later. I tried a new protein shake the past two days and instead of loosing weight, I actually gained 6lbs in bloating. As well, I felt like my throat thickened and I had a hard time swallowing for both the days. I think I am counting that a mild allergic reaction?
  17. I am thinking it was venison. It was 1oz of meat and it was cooked in a way that was very moist. I thought it would be ok, but I definitely won't be trying that again. As it is, the surgeon has told me to go back onto clear fluids until they can talk to me or see me in person next week. I live over an hour away so the ambulance wouldn't take me back to that hospital last night. Couldn't believe how little the local ER knew about gastric bypass! They where great but I had to remind them of a lot of things such as no NSAID's, not throwing up acid because that part of my stomach wasn't attached to my esophagus, etc. I thought I was being very careful too but that was too heavy/rich I guess. 24 hours later, I am still feeling brutal but not in immense pain so I think it is just my muscles still hurting from the dry heaving. I haven't heard of Ufit. I am in Canada and a lot of the shakes I can't find here either. But, I will definitely look for that one. Iced Latte doesn't sound horribly sweet. Thanks
  18. Got my protein from food sources yesterday! Was so excited, until I wound up in the ER all night dehydrated from dumping syndrome. They still haven't let me out, but hopefully I am out today. Back to the shakes for a few days I think. Now I am scared to try solids again.
  19. Thank you for the ideas! I was trying Protein2o out. I have narrowed it down to the whey or the stevia. I have a hard time with some of those alt sweetners. I can't do xylitol or erytherol for sure.
  20. Congrats! If you can, try to see if you can find samples of a few different protein shakes or powders for afterwards. The ones I liked before surgery where horribly sweet, smelled gross or didn't sit well afterwards. As such, I spent the first week and a half after surgery I was trying to find and buy different powders or shakes almost daily. It has been very expensive to go that route. Your sense of smell and taste change after surgery so it is hard to know what you will actually like afterwards. Something else I found invaluable for the first week and a half (I am 2 weeks post surgery and just stopped using it a couple days ago) was an abdominal binder. Velcro to do up, covering from hips to boobs basically. It will help support your sore stomach and lesson the pain if you cough, sneeze, twist or breath wrong. lol. Seriously, huge help!

    Post op diet

They are for before and definitely after. I am still surviving mainly on shakes at this point. I couldn't stomach most protein powders after surgery. Was told to look into Protein2O which is a clear drink and much easier to stomach. As well Revolution Splash which is also supposed to be way easier and lactose free.
