To weigh or not weigh? Breaking scale obsession
iseanu posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Before surgery, I was in the habit of only weighing myself when I went to the doctor. After surgery, I’ve weighed once a week, but I’m wondering if I should not weigh myself unless at the doctors office because I’m feeling obsessed with the scale. I’ve heard when we focus on the healthy lifestyle the weight will organically fall off. It’s not fun being obsessed with the scale and there are other great wins post-surgery other than the number on the scale. What are your thoughts?- 4 replies

Back pain.. possible kidney related?
iseanu replied to Lanie992's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They can evaluate your kidneys with a urine and blood test. X-ray would be 2nd step and probably more expensive? Maybe go to an ER where they take indigent patients? This way, if you can’t pay out of pocket, and since you are not working, maybe they can take the hit? Regardless, they are required to treat you by law and cannot turn you away. Also, ERs have more capabilities than urgent care. A lot of urgent cares will send you to LabCorb or something like that to outsource your labs. Best of luck to you but get it checked out as it seems debilitating and you deserve solid quality of life, especially after surgery and weight loss. -
