  1. I am actually 5 days post op myself and it was pretty rough for me as well. I had so much pain the first couple of days and I threw up a lot. I honestly regretted the decision for a few days. My doctor prescribed me some anti nausea medication, which worked wonders and I started getting up and moving every chance I got. Its now like night and day. Its amazing how quickly our bodies can recover. I still have some pain, and I miss food but I just remind myself that there is something I want so much more than that. I'm sorry you don't have a good support group at home but you have a support group here. It will get better! One day it will be a distant memory and you will be so glad you did it. Feel free to reach out any time you need some support. Hang in there! Sent from my SM-T500 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Sleep

I actually found a tea by Celestial Seasonings. Its called sleepy time tea. No caffeine obviously and tastes pretty good. It helps me fall asleep and sleep longer when I do. I don't wake up as many times in the night. Sometimes not at all. Just another alternative. Good luck! Sent from my SM-N976U using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Hey all I'm new to this forum. Found out on Christmas Eve that my surgery is scheduled for January 8th. (MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME). I am trying to prepare as much as possible, mentally and physically. I've done my homework but people say you are never fully prepared for the changes. Due to timing, I'm not going to be able to take off as much time from work as I'd hoped. Having already been rescheduled due to Covid spikes here in CO, I didn't want to turn down the date.. I am looking for feedback from others on how long until you were able to move around somewhat normally, and how long you had to take pain meds for. I work a desk job, and part time from home, so I'm not concerned about lifting or exerting myself. My surgeon said a week. Also, if anyone is looking for a Jan surgery buddy, message me!
