Are We Ready For A Woman VP?
JamieNP replied to Daisalana's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Do I believe it. No .I heard about it on talk radio and there has been investigations about it. Just like bill maher saying that palins baby is really her daughters.you can't believe everything out there even if it is recordings of the candidates. More than likely it was taken out of context. Choose a candidate on their merits and what they have done and how they have changed things instead of the media and hollywoods view. -

Hubby has 28 years and just retired. Flew blackhawks (was in Somolia and in the book "Blackhawk Down" when the Clinton screwed the military over). I am also a nurse...and I also tote a gun. -
According to my doctor's office, who deals with Tricare a lot (we are close to a military base), these are requirements in order to get it approved. Tricare was looking for my Psy eval and called the office for it.

lol...I had my appeal letter ready. I have many research articles and have been preparing everything. I passed some of this on to Karina...hopefully she won't need it.

I read in one of my Lapband books that if you drink a little meat tenderizer mixed in water, it will help. -
Don't get discouraged. If you need a psy eval, you can set up your own. You may have to do the leg work here. Let me give you some codes...make sure they use these. You are going to have to have proof of some type of comorbidity...get a copy of the pulmonologist letter. From Tricare Handbook I. CPT1 PROCEDURE CODES 43644, 43770 - 43774, 43842, 43846, 43848, 43886 - 43888, S2083 II. DESCRIPTION Morbid obesity means the body weight is 100 pounds over ideal weight for height and bone structure, according to the most current Metropolitan Life Table, and such weight is in association with severe medical conditions known to have higher mortality rates in association with morbid obesity; or, the body weight is 200% or more of ideal weight for height and bone structure. III. POLICY A. Gastric bypass, gastric stapling or gastroplasty, to include vertical banded gastroplasty is covered when one of the following conditions is met: 1. The patient is 100 pounds over the ideal weight for height and bone structure and has one of these associated medical conditions: diabetes mellitus, hypertension, cholecystitis, narcolepsy, Pickwickian syndrome (and other severe respiratory diseases), hypothalamic disorders and severe arthritis of the weight-bearing joints. 2. The patient is 200% or more of the ideal weight for height and bone structure. An associated medical condition is not required for this category. 3. The patient has had an intestinal bypass or other surgery for obesity and, because of complications, requires a second surgery (a takedown). B. In determining the ideal body weight for morbid obesity using the Metropolitan Life Table, contractors must apply 100 pounds (or 200%) to both the lower and higher end of the weight range. Payment will be allowed when beneficiaries meet all requirements for morbid obesity surgery including the ideal weight within the newly determined range

Well, my husband has been one of those fighting in Iraq, my son is getting ready to get deployed, and my daughter is a member of the National Guard. All you will hear is what the left media wants you to know. Hubby has been there 8 times. I personally know a former Iraq citizen who's town was attacked by Sadam Hussein...and guess what he used on them??? Weapons of mass destruction! Wow. Most Iraqis think that the US saved them and want us over there. Oh, and we own a gunsmithing business, and go to church. So I guess we are clinging to "guns and God". There is a lot of talk about Obama's links to a known terrorist. You just won't hear it from the leftist media. Whether it is true or not, I do not know. My reasons for not supporting him are multiple and mainly have to do with his FAR left view, his experience, his lack of respect for our soldiers, and his wanting to take our rights away from us. -
Sunnylime, Sleep apnea is a major comorbidity. When those results come back they need to be sent to Tricare. Did you have a psy eval? Tricare had initially held mine because they didn't have a copy of my psy eval. According to my surgeon, Tricare needs a psy eval, EKG and labs, upper GI. What does your denial letter say. It should give you a detailed reason for your denial. My preop is starting today. It is supposed to be a month of lowfat, lowcal liquid diet. I am going to do a "mostly liquid" diet but my parents are cooking me a big steak dinner this weekend, and my friends and I are going to our favorite restaurant and having margaritas before my surgery.

Ok, enough of calling her a racist. Our country has been repeatedly attacked by Muslim terrorists. There have been numerous articles and acquisitions of Obama being linked to terrorist. Little is known about his education as a youth in Indonesia. Obama wants to take some of our constitutional rights away (aka GUNS) This leads some to be leery of Obama's intentions for our country. Also, this "godlike" worshipping of Obama tends to remind people of Revelations. ‘Terrorist’ link puts Barack Obama under fire - Times Online Obama worked with terrorist -
What is your surgery date? Let's keep a list.

I'm September 30th:thumbup: -
I was the one that was 6.5 lbs under the requirement. I gained some weight, went back in to reweigh, and had gained the 6.5 and more. According to my denial letter, they go by the Met life ht/wt chart and from the number that they gave me, it was the lowest number in the Medium build chart. I have 2 comorbidities (HTN and Obstructive sleep abnea with cpap) and tricare acknowledged this. If you meet the requirements and they deny you, then you need to talk with them and appeal. BTW, my surgeons office resubmitted the new wt on Friday afternoon and I found out Wed (Monday was a holiday). So they were pretty quick. Good luck!!

Maranda, I am getting banded on the 30th too!! :lovechoc:

Getting banded Sept 30th -
Tricare has denied me once and again
JamieNP replied to AZArmyWife36's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As most of you know, I was denied at first, resubmitted, and was approved. Tricare goes by Metlife's ht/wt chart. They use the Medium build frame for the required wt. This is what my denial letter told me. I had the comorbidities, which they accepted (high blood pressure and sleep apnea), but told me that I needed to weigh 227 lbs to be approved (I weighed 220.5). Sooooooooo.....I gained 13 lbs and went to the surgeon's office and they resubmitted the new weight...and I was approved in 2 business days! Remember...you HAVE to weigh that required wt...either 100 lbs over with comorbids or 200% over without. Your denial letter should tell you what you need to get approved. Surely you can SOMEHOW put on the weight. -
Psychological Evaluation Stories
JamieNP replied to LJB's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
We talked about my health history, my family's. Discussed my support system....Then discussed Hospitals and business type stuff (she is a NP and I am finishing mine up). Oh, and we discussed PTSD, as my husband has severe PTSD from 8 trips to Iraq. Pretty easy. They just want to know: if you understand what you are getting yourself into. if you have an eating disorder that needs further evaluation if you have a support system if you have other addictions that need to be dealt with
