    Assholes

One of my favorite Snacks is a big fat garden tomato (don't worry, I live in Europe) and a cucumber. My band loves it and I love it. I think you're doing a great job and your friends are insecure. Tell em to straighten up or you're getting new ones. How's the raw diet coming along? :crying:

Every time I go to a class with the Surgeons

I believe that's the duodenal switch. RNY leaves the unused portion of the stomach there so the surgery can be reversed or revised if there are later complications.

    It's coming out:

Hope you see this. I think you should get the sleeve, so you don't regret later in life that you waited so long. Good luck!

Wow, there are so many mistruths in this thread. 1) GBS can be reversed, they just sew back together what they cut apart. 2) The drs do have 1 week, 1 month, 6 month, 12 month, 18 month followups. 3) Going back to old habits is a risk with both surgeries so that shouldn't even be a factor. 4) Even if you lose weight slow, there's no certainty that your skin will be normal. Depends on age, how long you were obese, how much you exercise, Water intake, Vitamins, lotions, and luck! 5) Death rate for both surgeries is about the same, which is actually the rate for most surgeries. 1%. Also varies GREATLY with surgeon experience. 6) Vitamins. Both major WLS options leaves their patients lacking in proper nutrition. ANY 'diet' you start that reduces coloric intake is gonna require you to take your vitamins. GBS people just have to work a bit harder at it cause they absorb 25% less than a normal person. Meh.. there's more but I'm tired. I'm not defending GBS cause it is truly a big step. I'm just saying .. don't believe everything you hear.
  10. The surgery itself is easy. I haven't had any complications (other than the company going bankrupt and being left to fend for myself.) You can keep doing what you've always done and keep piling on the pounds and the list of co-morbidities or you can give yourself a second chance with the surgery. Your choice.
  11. I don't think you're being fair. You have 7cc so you should have plenty of restriction. Assuming there's nothing wrong physically with your band, I'd be willing to bet you 100 bucks if you would do liquids only for 3 days to tighten yourself back up, and then stick to the program, eating lots of lean meats and veggies, you'd start losing weight. You already admitted that you eat soft slider foods cause it doesn't hurt. That is what's making you not lose weight. The band doesn't do it for you. You MUST change your diet. The band only makes it easier for you to do that. I've lost 15lbs in the last two weeks cause I finally stopped feeling sorry for myself and my lack of aftercare over the last 4 years and started doing my own research and following most of the advice online. You can continue to feel sorry for yourself and keep getting the same results, or you can make changes and start loving yourself and your band.
