Lucky you, Blon Dee! I'm dying for something other than liquids! Been on them for 3 weeks. Had surgery last week. One more week on liquids.

Pre op diet- messing up/cheating
Bridge1967 replied to Bridge1967's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks Kim. Had surgery successfully. I'm working with a counselor. -
Has anybody had experienced cheating on liquid diet. (I'm totally liqid). I know it@not ok, but does a slip make you ineligible for surgery?
-
From my experience. Not a dr.

Good news, your probably going into ketosis, which burns fat. Bad news, feeling like you have the flu is typical at that stage. Keep up your water and protein! It should go away in a day or 2.
-
Yeah, done! . So glad it's over. I'm doing well with protein and liquids. Only problem I have is when I have to take pills. Doing well overall. Thanks for asking.

Tomorrow morning is my surgery. I'm. Scared that I may mess up. I'm also excited that I get this chance. Just needing some reassurance right now.
-
Are you drinking it cold? That bothered me the first 2 days. Maybe try room temp or warm?
-
I consider myself very lucky. The first 2 days were tough. Able to do 64 oz of liquid and 3 shakes. I don't sleep !lot. I only sleep about 4-5 hours a night, so I have more opportunity to drink.
-
Oh, ok, blue.
-
Oh, wow! I had to have protein shakes and reg liquids. Good thing I wasn't on milk diet. I am lactose intolerant.
-
Milk diet?
-
They do labs at least 2 weeks before surgery. Not exactly sure what they check for.
-
Weigh in. Just going over what's going to happen right before surgery and after surgery. You can ask any questions you have.
-
Sorry to hear that Gina! I'm doing fairly well, nauseated a few times when I drank too much or too fast. I got some anti nausea medicine, which helps.
-
In my thoughts and prayers!
-
Wishing you well, Kevin! It's so nice to be on the other side.
-
I'm getting toradol AND tramadol.

Wish you knew before surgery…

Please pack a lip balm/chapstick. I got Burts bees. Invaluable for hospital stay as you try to rehydrate. -
I'm doing ok. Trying to pace myself with liquids. Very thirsty, but have to watch myself not to drink too much too fast. Some pa>n Trying to rest.

Had surgery yesterday! So nice to be on the other side. Having problem with taking in too much air and getting gas pain in my stomach. Don't have too much ice. It hurts. REMEMBER A LIP BALM! It helps with chapped lips while you catch up with your liquids.

Ok.

Oh ok.
