My concerns about telling people.
Brockbabe82 replied to midwestchickie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I guess for me it's not so much keeping it a secret it's just that I don't want people to have any expectations. I have told some people, and haven't others. I just think when situations like this occur people tend to think your should be a certain way and if you don't conform then it's been a failure. ( I'm suggesting like people who think you should be losing 200 lbs in a year)etc. I know not everyone thinks in negative ways but this surgery is for me, not for my friends, family, coworkers, etc. and I believe it should stay that way. -

Hello everyone, My name is Jennifer and I am 20 years old. I am being banded b Dr. Haag sometime this summer. I have one more dietician appt on monday and then they can send everything to the insurance. I started this process the 1st week of june , so eveything is coming together pretty fast. It is nice to see so many people doing well with this organization. Congrats to all of you who are doing so well.

Congrats on almost being all set. I am still sorta struggling with the drinking thing. I was a compulsive diet coke fan so I have finally cut it down to 1 can a day. I know after I have the surgery the soda will have to be cut out completely but for now this is working for me. My only advice is practice and to take it one day at a time. Good luck hunny!:Angel_anim:

Hey hun, I also haven't had the surgery yet but I feel some of the fears you are describing. I'm 20 years old and waiting for my date as well. As far as the insurance goes if it has been over a week and a half then you should call the insurance company and see if they have recieved your information and what the status of your approval is. If you get no where with them then have the surgeon's office resubmit the info. I'm not sure if this helped but any time you need to talk I'm here.

What is the rudest thing someone has said to you?!?!
Brockbabe82 replied to auntlucy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The worst comments I have ever heard were from a customer at my work. I waitress on the side to pay for school and one of my regular customers is a snooty old woman who is also overweight. On one of her lovely visits to my restaurant she asked me to come over and talk to her. I went to her and she said " you know your such a pretty girl but your Huge! Have you ever thought about liposuction? If that wasn't bad enough she said that with the way I'm going I will never find a man to love me. I have been with my boyfriend for almost 3 years!!!lol Another one that always kills me is when I hear kids look at me an say mommy shes big. I know their kids but deep down it still bothers me. -
Good luck hun!!!!
