Just banded on Dec. 16th
Brockbabe82 replied to krisann2927's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
After my surgery I felt like something was pulling every time I moved. Almost like there was a significant weight sitting on top of my stomach. It was really about 2 1/2-3 weeks were I felt back to my norm. It was very difficult to sit in certin chairs or positions also after surgery. I hope you are recovering well. good luck. -

Does it bother anyone to sleep on their stomach with their port?
Brockbabe82 replied to Just Banded's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still have a lot of problems sleeping. I typically sleep on my side or my stomach but since surgery I have a hard time sleeping all together. My port site pulls when I lay down so it is hard to get comfortable. I am still sleeping in my recliner just til I can actually lay completely comfortably. I hope it gets better soon. -
I maybe reading this wron but you were bandly very recently. For on thing most surgeons do not give fills out until at least 5-6 weeks after surgery because of serious problems like this. Perhaps this is one of the problems and your stomach was not given the right amount of time to heal. now another question is has this problem only been occuring since the fill or was it immediatly after you had the fill. I think your first step is to see the doc. Get in on an emergency visit if you can. Then I would talk to them about what you can do. Maybe there is other alternatives then getting your band removed. I hope everything gets better. Good luck

The Water Rule
Brockbabe82 replied to Lady Lap Band's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
the rule I was given was similar. no drinking 15 minutes before and 15 to 20 minutes after. They say that you are more apt to throw up if you over load yourself and food. It sounds as if your rule makes a lot of since too. you definitely want to feel full for longer. -
Good luck! I hope everything goes great!

Now I know what it feels like to need a fill!
Brockbabe82 replied to Thegirlnextdoor's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I go throught the same thing with the sclae, I get obsessive. If I weigh my self , I will continue to do so and a jump of anything drives me nuts. Just remember your still healing and it is still very early. January is right around the corner. -

Brockbabe82 replied to Thegirlnextdoor's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am right there with you. I do not get my first fill until January 7th and i really do not have any restriction. Basically I am forcing myself to do it , that is the only way for me. It is hard with the holidays approaching and all the emphasis being on food but we all need to stick together and do it together. Don't get discouraged, keep your head up. Good luck sweetie! -

:thumbup:Your doing great!!! Keep up the good work! -
I would definitely see the doc. Don't worry about being embarrased they are doctors they have and will see worse things. You need the documentation and also the medication. It depends on wether or not you want to self treat it. I wouldnt take any chances though.

Like it was said before he is propbaly threatened by your new found outlook. When your overweight yout tend to stand in the back, now your telling yourself your going to do it and that probably makes him nervous for the future. Who knows, he may have many insecurities with himself that are coming out in this form. Either way he should be supportive of you and respect what you are doing with your life. -

1 yr post op and very frustrated
Brockbabe82 replied to got2bme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Again like it was said before what you eat and how much is significantly important. You said it yourself I do not eat enough. Therefore maybe you should meet with your nutritionist and figure out a better diet for you. I would also talk with your surgeon, they are there to help you. Again running a household and working is great and is movement but it does not count as exercising. There are so many things you can do in your house to get fit. Stairs, jumping jacks, situps, running in place. Also it's holiday time gym memberships are cheap right now. My best advice is look into every avenue. Good luck. -
Soooo Freakin' Gross!
Brockbabe82 replied to sistasassy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too had this experience the other day. Totally scary, but it let me know that my band was really working. lol I am a little nervous for those experiences where you learn what you can eat and what you cannot.
