Scales!!!
Brockbabe82 replied to MADE IT 2 MY GOAL..OH YEAH's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If i am going to weigh myself I do it in the same place every time, that way I know there should not be a difference. However weighing on a carpet will give you a different result then a hard wood floor. -
I'm not sure they gave me this date over the phone. I will check the website though.

Eating 700-900 cals and gaining. TOM the problem?
Brockbabe82 replied to als74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would say that it could be caused by the TOM but I think you also need to make sure that you are eating enough calories so that your body gets the nutrients it needs. Any changes recently in the way you have been eating? -
glad to hear your doing well twiggy. Congrats on entering band land!!!

I'm so happy for you. This is an exciting time...enjoy it, for you earned it.

I had a good one tonight. This last summer (08) I had to order a bathing suit online because I could not find one in the store. It was a bit snug in the summer. I put it on tonight to go swimming at the gym and it was SOOOO big on my. I had to tie the straps together just so the top wouldn't fall down. It felt great to know that this year I will be buying a suit in the store. Glad to hear there are so many others out there who are experiencing these wonderful moments.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

:thumbup:clicking between that and biggest loser. American idol doesn't get good until there are like 12 people left. Thats when you really get to hear how good or bad they are. Have a great night.

My Doctor Has Become Concerned
Brockbabe82 replied to HeatherO's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I would call around and see if you can find any obgyn docs who have experience with bandsters. Not necessarily to deliver your baby but to see if there is anything extra you can do. Other then that I hope everything goes well, and you and your baby are healthy:thumbup: -
Amen to that...

Anyone have moments of panic before surgery?
Brockbabe82 replied to twiggysmiff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I definitely had moments of fear and panic before the band. I was very scared but my surgeon tried to calm my fears. Actually the one thing that helped me the most was listening to other's stories on here. It's inspiring to hear the good and also beneficial to hear the bad. You will be fine just try to stay calm and don't panic. This is the beginning of the rest of your life. -
Hello Jessica It is great to see someone else in their early 20's take control of their life. All the pain and waiting your experiencing now will be well worth it in the end. I'm glad your doing well, keep up the good work.

I too have experieced a platue. I was banded on November 14, and have lost 20 lbs since surgery. I went in for my first fill today and told the doc about my worries. He told me to be patient and that I am still in the beginning stages. He put 4cc in today of my 14 cc band. I hope it picks up though, but I'm glad I can vent on here especially to people who can relate. Good luck to everyone.

So today I went for my first fill. I was totally expecting the worst but it was not that bad. It did take a while to find my port but he eventually got it. I have a 14cc band, and today he put in 4cc. After reading posts on here that seems like it was a large fill. I know everyone is different but I want to know other's experience. So basically my question is how many cc's did you receive on your first fill. Thanks

Congrats Matt your doing great. Its only a matter of time before you are below that 400 mark. Keep up the good work!

I'm feeling good. I can drink and swallow liquids. I was very nervous before the fill beacuse you hear about those cases where some cannot swallow or drink without pain. The doc told me to call him in a week if I have no restriction and we would try again. I am hoping all goes well though. I hope that your next fill goes well, let me know how everything goes.

Hi maggieas, I had the lap band done on 11/14/08 by dr. Haag. It took me about a week to get a surgery date. But I harrased them every day. I kept calling and calling. They are a little slow in that office but just make sure you push them to get the ball rolling. Good luck.:tongue2:

1-5-09 Is the big day!!
Brockbabe82 replied to candibaby0417's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
just wanted to send you some good vibes. Stay positive and have people to rely on during recovery. Also bring a pillow to the hospital for the ride home. The bumps are the worst. good luck hun. -
this phase of the whole experience sucks. The preop diet is hard and it seems like the days drag. Just remember that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Try to eat your Protein first and maybe that will help with your hunger. Good luck

How do I know if something gets "stuck"
Brockbabe82 replied to amberd910's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Like it was said before you will definitely know when something gets stuck. It feels almost like someone is puncing you in the chest and the back at the same time. For me it is uncomfortable to sit, stand, basically exist for like 1/2 hour. I hope you never experience this either.
