    Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal

I have federal blue cross blue shield as well and my copays for fills are $15. As far as the surgery went it cost me only $38. The insurance approval took about 1 1/2 weeks to get approved but I BOTHERED them every day!

    Drinking with straws?

My doc said this is an absolute no no! It's funny because most people miss breads or pasta, and my biggest thing is drinking out of a straw! I miss the ability to that. I am unsure of why they do not want me to but I am not taking any chances and I am following the doc's orders.

    What is the problem?

It sounds like you do need another fill. It would probably be best to get an appointment asap with the doc, you do not want to have any serious, major problems to deal with. Also not to sound harsh or anything but in the mean time you should try to be strict about the foods you are eating. Pizza is one of the things I know if I endulge in it there is no going back. Try sticking to the high Protein low carb diet the docs want all of is to do, that way you know you are doing your part. Good luck to you.

This is the worst, so just take it day by day. Soon enough you will be banded and things will be moving along. Good luck and congrats on entering the rest of your life!:scared2:

    English Muffins Anyone?

I don't even want to try any of that. I have had several instances of foods getting stuck but I am going to do everything to not have things get stuck. Maybe if it is cooked enough there won't be much of a problem. Good luck.

    More delays

I would just keep bothering them till they get back to you. It's amazing how people can dangle your life right before your face. You have the right to be proactive about your life and health therefore bother the crap out of this person, then if all else fails find another counselor who can see you asap and get the ball rolling. Good luck to you.
  14. I'm not sure about all this but it would definitely be best if you called your surgeon. They tell you if you are uncomfortable then it is best if you call right away. You do not want to injure yourself or cause problems with your band . I hope you feel better.

    pvsa anyone?

I was wondering for those of you who have had fills before how long it took you till you felt a good deal of restriction.
  19. Brockbabe82

    pvsa anyone?

hey mag!!!!!!!! I'm so excited for you. The doc made me do a pre op diet but only because my bmi was really high. He just wants to see that you can follow the rules after the surgery. I feel great and soon enough you will too. Good luck hun, let me know how you are.:thumbup::w00t:

    Restriction?

I too have problems with the eating and drinking thing. I want to drink so bad when I am eating, it is driving me nuts. I try to not have anything to drink around me when I am eating. That seems to help a lot. I do however keep water or crystal light with me at all times.
  21. Brockbabe82

    Restriction?

make sure you are drinking enough water. If you are fully hydrated it helps you feel full faster. Next time you feel like snacking have a glass of water. That always helps me. I hope things get better.

    I got my date.....February 6th!

congrats and good luck on your journey.
  23. Brockbabe82

    Restriction?

did the doc give you any diet guidelines, are you getting enough protein? Are you drinking enough water. Have you contacted a nutritionist , perhaps they can help you jump start the weight loss. It stinks it's different for everyone so there are no pin points of what the problem is. Talk to your doctor, make sure your journaling what you eat, and make sure you make an attempt at the exercise. If your not losing after that then you definitely need to find out whats wrong.
  24. Brockbabe82

    Restriction?

I too did not feel that much restriction after my first fill. I scheduled my second for 2/4/09. I am hoping that will do the trick. I have a 14cc band and my first fill was of 4cc. I hope everything goes better for you after your next fill.

    Inauguration... what did you think?

I think he did an excellent job. It was a wonderful moment in history, one that I will remember. He is well educated and articulate and seems to be for change and responsibility. Hopefully these are times of change and acceptance.
