Seeking Advice on Family...
Brockbabe82 replied to Ale78's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry sweetie you are having such trouble with the people who should be the most supportive. Put aside anyone else's feelings because this is about you, no one else. You are doing this so that you can have a better life, a healthier life. Do what you have to do regardless of anyone's feelings. wls is not a cop out it is hard and not just anyone can do it. The only person who can advocate for your health is you so don't worry about the rest. If your mother or anyone in your life doesn't support you then it is their loss, not yours. Tell them it's your body, your decision , and there are a hell of a lot more risks for staying obese. So girl do your thing, do this FOR YOU! Congrats on taking the next step to start a happier and healthier future and remember we are all here for support. -
Be excited!!!! congrats on the start of your new life.

problems urinating after surgery????
Brockbabe82 replied to wintobethin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a difficult time urinating after surgery as well. I tried and nothing worked. I stayed over night and finally at 3 o'clock in the morning the nurse came in and said that I needed to try or they were going to make me use a cath. So finally 20 hours after surgery I was able to go. The whole week after it was hard to because my stomach muscles hurt so bad sitting on the toliet. -
No liquids while eatting, then what about soup?
Brockbabe82 replied to WorkingMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wondered the same thing about cereal with milk. I mean I have not had that yet but isn't that defeating the purpose of the eating and drinking thing? -
I think the most important part of this journey is taking responsibility and knowing what you need to work on. It seems as though you know exactly what your issues are and the band will assist you in this. With that said you know that this is a tool and you have to work with it. It is so totally normal to be nervous, people would be lying if they said they werent. I look at it as there are sideafftects with the surgery and a hellava lot more for being obese. So good luck, be optimistic, and enjoy the start of the rest of your life.

I used to drink so much diet coke. It was ridiculous the amount but stopped 2 months prior to surgery. I thought it was going to be so hard but it really wasnt. In fact I accidently took a sip of what I thought was my cup of iced tea and it was my cousins diet coke and i thought it tasted awful. The taste was so nasty so I do not feel bad about the soda anymore. Loving my crystal light. You want to be careful about the soda with all the air , and the carbanation. Good luck to you.

hello! It is great to see someone else start the journey of a lifetime. This is the best thing I ever did for myself so I hope you end up feeling the same. As far as the sleep test goes I never had to do that but I do believe they do it for sleep apnea. They just want to make sure you are in good enough health to have this done. Good luck

I'm sorry you are having such a difficult time sunny. Go for your fill keep doing what your doing and if nothing after that consult a nutritionist and your surgeon to see what the problems are. Good luck to you. I wish you health and success with this.

Help! I need protein
Brockbabe82 replied to lablover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
well since you are probably on the liquid stage , the only liquid protein that I tolerated was carnation instant breakfast- no sugar added. Other then that I had some problems getting my protein in to. Good luck -

Brockbabe82 replied to Makulafamy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon said to expect a weight gain right away because off the iv. I stayed overnight so I had a constant iv and my weight jumped a couple of pounds. Don't worry it will be off before you know it.Congrats on entering band land. -

Things that you miss
Brockbabe82 replied to Gus-Gus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't really miss the food aspect, but I miss drinking from a straw! It is so irrititating to have to drink out of the cup at a restaurant. I guess I will get over it because losing weight is more important!
