Having a down week...
Brockbabe82 replied to TeganRheana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would say between 1100-1400 depending on what exactly you are doing with your exercise regime. Remember you need to make some time for your health in your day. Even if you have to do stairs, or jog in place, etc, your still moving. Be selfish if you have to. Belly dancing is a great form of exercise, I hope you enjoy it. Good luck, and chew slowly! -
Congrats on the 65 pounds, and jump starting your weight loss again! Keep up the great work, you sound like you have the right attitude!

cycle messed up?
Brockbabe82 replied to mominkansas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have read thatthe amount of fat affects estrogen. When you lose fat, our bodies hormone levels naturally change. When you lose fat fast eventually even out, especially once you start losing rapidly. I hope this helps, call your doc though if it doesnt change. Good luck! -

my only advice is for you to get a hold of your surgeon. You don't want to risk having an infection. I hope everything is okay, keep us posted. -

Need Lap Band Buddy / Mentor I really need some help
Brockbabe82 replied to tabria28's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
First off let this be the start of your new band life. Don't look back anymore, look forward. You need to make a conscious effort to start following the rules of the band. Then you need to start incorporating exercise in your day. One thing you really need to do is make the band one of your most significant priorities. The band will make you happier, healthier, and perhaps better equipped to deal with the stressors in your life. Take it day by day, hour by hour if you have to. Just remember you have a whole family of supporters here to help. Anytime you need to talk email me, I will try my best to help you. The most important thing you need to know is you ARE worth it! -
I dont think it is anything really dangerous but I would call your surgeon just to double check. Sending healthy vibes your way!:blushing:

This is where the term Bandster Hell comes in affect. The period between surgery and first fill. Like it was said before some people even gain weight, so good for you for going in th eopposite direction. keep your head up and keep doing what your doing! good luck! -

What do they want???
Brockbabe82 replied to txcloverangel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They just don't want you to gain weight. They want to see that you can commit yourself and follow a diet program. Its one of those things where they think if they cannot follow a diet preop they will not do it post op. So I don't think there is a specific number to lose. Good luck -
Trish, I am glad your daughter got such wonderful people working with her. I wish you bot nothing but success. Take care!

Define please
Brockbabe82 replied to wishinghoping's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
PBing mean productive burping and it is what happens if you eat something that cannot get past the band. Basically you just throw it back up. Sliming usually precedes pbing and it is when your body creates a lot of saliva in your mouth and mucus in your stomach to aid in throwing the stuck item back up. -
I definitely do not think that it is normal. Call your surgeon just to be safe. I hope everything works out, good luck!

Pain around my belly button??
Brockbabe82 replied to MissMe27's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
"How long does it take before the swelling and soreness subside?". The only answer to this question is everyone is different. I didn't feel 100% back to normal until 1 month post op, but some are back to normal after 3 days. My swelling went down about 2 1/2- 3 weeks post op, infact I could NOT wear jeans for 3 weeks, lol. I do hope your recovery is much faster! Good luck to you. -
Teacher Mommy, Surgery Date: 6/12/09 (Realize Band) by Dr. Garth Davis, Houston Isnt that the doc from BIG MEDICINE? He is wonderful, I love that show! Good luck!

Brockbabe82 replied to kathyk1256's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know my surgeon said to wait 5-6 weeks before doing really physical exercise. I started walking far before that though. Walking is a great way to start, swimming is also great but of course when you incisions heal! Good luck! -
Kristine, Glad to hear your husband came around. I hope he continues to stay supportive and you continue to do well on your journey!
